I agree that the SEC women's bball coaches have a great combination of experience (Andy, Pat, Moody, Fanning, Fortner) and new energy (Balcomb, Peck Gardner , Pokey). ANd even folks like Jim Foster and Gary Blair who leave the conference achieve success.
I don't really follow the WNBA too much as of late. A few years back I was a COmets fan (that must sound real good to a SParks fan, huh?) but I don't get into it as much lately. It's more a time commitment thing, i guess.

Yep, it is good being a Sparks fan. We've got two WNBA titles, and we went to the finals last year.
IT seems like all of my teams are losing in championship games or title rounds lately. The Sparks lost to the Shock in the WNBA finals. The Lakers lost to the Pistons in the NBA Finals, Serena Williams lost in the Wimbledon Final, and the Tennessee Lady Vols lost to UConn in the women's title game.
NoDakSt, how long do you think it will take Coach DeMoss to get the program up to title contention??

As you've already mentioned in another thread, kentubby, the WNIT might not be out of reach this year. I'm anxious to see the preseason schedule to get a better understanding of the level of competition.
Getting a player in the calibre of Sade Buley I believe is huge. Mickie needs to establish herself as a recruitier who goes after the best each year. She has an advantage in that Kentucky is a basketball school and marketting a national championship team is something the atheltic dept. is not unfamiliar with. Also, across the nation, people are intrigued to see what Mickie can do. I say the WNIT is a possibility this year and maybe in two years the NCAA.
