I would love to get this going again but, if it's easier for everyone on Facebook, then it will have to do.

I think I might need to write up a piece on how Wildcat Maniacs was born since I was there the night of it's, well, conception. We truly were the Little Engine That Could. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect to grow like we did and we were recognized by many of the "major" UK sites as a message board fans should visit. And now 11 years later, I am still in communication with people I met here. To see it go away just saddens me unspeakably. I've had so many losses in the past 25 months and Maniacs going away would just be another thing to mourn. Boomer, you said you'd come here in basketball season. My question is, what could make this site a destination for you the rest of the year?

Great question Michele! I think we can make this work but it will take a good amount of effort from all the members to get it rolling again. Yes, this little board was a linked favorite on several of the larger blogs and forums as a great smaller board. We can do this.

Even though I had only a few posts, I was on this site on a regular basis and always enjoyed it. Also, there are a few things I will not do and establish a Facebook account is one of those.

Northern Wildcat & indyukfan, we are glad you keep visiting us and hope you will at least post occasionally so we know you're there. We want nothing more than for this site to come alive again and continue to be THE place for getting your Wildcat news and discussing your Cats with other passionate fans!

Well so far it looks like the site is going to stay open. Now to get the traffic back to where it should be. I've upgraded to Proboards v. 5 and that has given us more features that obvious to those familiar with the site. Gone are the old banner and some of the graphics. This was a part of upgrading to v5 but nothing we can't overcome. I'm currently working from my Father in laws computer and can't do much with the site, but I do plan on doing a lot of refreshing when I can. The important thing is for us to keep the site fresh with new discussions etc. Keep posting and invite others as well.

I used to post at Cats Pause but now I am no longer allowed to post new topics...no doubt it's their way of trying to force me to be a pay member. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Cats Pause (you know the guys who did the annual yearbook since 1980ish) THE go-to Cats forum for years and years and now it's apparently become just a franchise of 24/7 or CBS Sports or something? So I finally find another place that (I hope) won't sell out and go commercial. I sure hope this is a good place, though be advised I am most interested in the history of the program (especially the Rupp and Hall Administrations) rather than the "here and now". Don't get me wrong, we certainly do need to talk about the current (and future) state of our program (and I certainly enjoy doing that also) but there's no trouble at all finding plenty of that. I just hope that here (or at any other forum) I can easily talk about the history of our program and not have it so easily get lost in the shuffle. After all, next season is the 50th anniversary of Rupp's Runts, is it not?

I've dropped by after a few years. I'd be here constantly if people were here. It's a lot of work to get people to a site. Then to keep it running. Glad my password work.

First time on here in a while and it's downright eerie. Kinda like visiting a ghost town that you know at one time was a thriving community but for some reason the the townsfolk left and the town eventually died.
Sad.
