Here's a thread to let those that love Tubby give their reasons. Maybe those that are cool on Tubby can see reasons to warm up to him.
Anything positive and/or complimentary you feel for Tubby should be added to this thread.
For starters:
Tubby is a great defensive coach. Love him or hate him, it would seem everyone would have to grant him that positive mark.
Tubby also seems genuinely concerned about his players, even though at times last season he wasn't on top of all their actions off the court. I really think he wants his players to succeed in their lives AFTER basketball and doesn't treat them simply as commodities while they're on his team.
Your positives?

I like Tubby because.......In all honesty I believe he's a good coach. Especially on the X's and O's part. He is also a very good man, and is well respected. I also think he cares for the players.

Correct. On a personal level...the nicest Coach Kentucky has ever had.
He is a pretty good defensive coach.
I still think that he's probably one if not the best In-game coaches in the country. Never seen a coach orchestrate a bench better than Tubby. (Most of the time).

I bet Tubby is glad some of those guys on last years team were not Saul's brother, or his other son's. I like him just because he lived through all of that without going crazy. I also think he handled the Saul thing fantastic. A classy leader. Heck, my son did not even play basketball for me, but he drove me half crazy many times. Maybe this year will be calm.

I love Tubby because of his wondrous powers of E.S.P. Undoubtedly he posses the talent of telepathy because he certainly doesn't use any verbal methods of coaching. All of his game plan is communicated through that famous "Tubby Stare"......a trully awsome coaching technique.
I also love his witty humor and masterful grasp of the English language during his weekly talk shows. His technical grasp and insight of the game amazes me. He always answers the caller's questions with pin-point accuracy........yeah, right!

I love Tubby because .. lol I think he is extremely classy! I got a chance to meet him at the Ohio U game and he was really nice, even though there were a lot of ppl that wanted to see him, he made sure he had a conversation with each of us, he didnt just sign our stuff and go he stopped and talked with each one of us. I think he's a good coach too.
