If UK continues to fade and Tubby stays, it will show how much intergrity HE LACKS. Our only hope is Barnie getting fired, than Tubby or enough pressure from the fans and the next AD to make Smith take the next offer he gets. It will be a welcome day when he leaves UK. Only 5 more seasons. Hopefully UNC won't catch us by then but you never know.

This is true but what comes first the money or the intergrity when it comes to Coach Smith? Will he step down even if Ky basketball is not at the level it should be or will he just collect a big paycheck? Would he be willing to admit he is not the man for the job or would he just continue to be stubborn as with his coaching style?

WAKE UP PEOPLE ..................... Tubby will be here as long as we wants. He has won about 80 percent of his games while at Uk. You dont fire a winning coach. I will agree this is not a very good team and will never be. Dont be ready to hang a man after 5 losses. Please lets stand behind the cats its easy to be a fan when their winning. It will get better

But what can happen, and what often does, is the Tubby would "resign" under pressure from the administrator. They always say it was their own decision. Happens very often. He could use personal reasons, or line up another job and then "resign" to go there. I personally don't mind if he goes. That's the first time I've ever said that.

Would he be willing to admit he is not the man for the job or would he just continue to be stubborn as with his coaching style? One of the hardest things for a man to admit is that he can't do it as good as the next guy. No man that I know of likes to admit defeat, and no man I know finds it easy to say he isn't the man for the job when he is in his chosen profession and had some measure of success. Even if Tubby can't get it done at Kentucky it's going to be hard for him to come to that realization. After all he has coached a team to a national title, won national coach of the year honors, swept a good SEC schedule, won SEC title after SEC title and been told my so many that he is the best thing since sliced bread. That will be hard to read through. I'm in no way saying Tubby can't get it done, because I still hold out hope that he can, but it would be hard for any of us to see it unless the program just imploded. Tubby won't step down on his own accord IMO.

Tubby will quit at the end of the season. IMO Not a chance. I think KJ's pretty close with his scenario.....except the "off with his head" thing....

Tubby will quit at the end of the season. IMO devil, I sure wish you were correct with that prediction but for us Cat Fans that is just wishful thinking.

Tubby can lose the rest of the games this year and will not be fired. It will take at least 2 years of this and then they may think about it.

My take on the entire thing is the following. #1) A contract buyout by Tubby will be forced, he is after all, a very smart guy. #2) Nothing will happen for awhile because of the contract thing and Barny is scared for his own job, after all, what kind of contract buyout will he have? #3) If Barny is forced to hire another coach, you bet you bibby, his job will be on the line. #4) At this point, it is possible, not for sure, but lots of people in the program could be somewhat worried and running for cover. #5) Every option, including changing his entire staff will be offered to Tubby before actions are taken. As I see it, Tubby will be offered every opportunity to right the ship, and to me, with the current administration, that does not include getting to the final four, it simply means having a record like the last few years. Thats the way it is, January 15th, 2006.

Too many fans and people in the administration still have faith in Coach Smith to give him anything less than a respectable walk-away by his own choosing.
