I haven't been there since the summer of 1980 but am wanting to go back soon. My family and I used to go every year since it opened in I think it was 1973 but we moved to Illinois and it is a little farther than it was from Louisville.. I remember they had a little Pizza Shop on the main square I can't remember the name but they had the best Pizza......

Spam, I DO remember The Bat...remember it quite well as a matter of fact! I may have been one of the last people to ride The Bat if I am not mistaken. My younger brother and I had taken off for a 3-day weekend and spent the majority of our time at King's Island. On Day 2, we waited over 2 hours to ride The Bat. The next load of riders that left after we finished our ride got almost to the top of the first big incline and the ride stopped. The people had to be taken off the ride and walked down that HUGE steel staircase. I am sooooooooo glad I wasn't one of them. Freaked me out thinking how close we had come to encountering major problems on that ride. The ride was shut down that day and on subsequent visits that summer, it had remained closed. It was a cool ride, but I guess it had its problems.

Kings Island is awesome. I haven't been in a few years, and I want to return and ride the Son of Beast. I also hope to venture up to Cedar Point someday. Me too, Kid, on both counts. I really want to get up to Cedar Point and ride the Millenium Force. That bad boy just looks too awesome.
