Wildcat Maniacs is pleased to announce our latest feature, "Maniac of the Week". This is intended to let our members get to know one another a bit better and find you may have lots of things in common with someone whose opinions you may not necessarily share. So we will select one member each week to be our featured Maniac. There will be a standard set of questions posed to this member and we encourage our other members to ask their own questions. Please note that questions of a very personal nature (i.e. place of employment, location, family member names, etc) may not be answered as it is each person's choice whether or not they wish to divulge such details. Moving on....please meet our first Maniac of the Week....TexasBlue! TB was #1 on our list of Top 10 posters, so he seemed to be the logical choice for starters. He has also graciously agreed to be the subject for this week's bout of grilling! ;D So Texas, when you have time, please answer the following questions and keep checking back for additional questions that may come your way! 1. How long have you been a Wildcat fan? 2. Other than UK sports, what other sports/teams do you follow regularly, if any? 3. What is your favorite hobby? 4. What do you think most people would be surprised to find out about you? (i.e. a unique skill, unusual hobby/interest, some personal achievement, etc) Can't wait to hear your answers!

- How important are direct objects, run-ons and word fragments in your personal life? ;D
- Since you're a Texan, when did you first become aquainted with the greatest program on the face of the planet?
- Why did you move from Texas to Kentucky?
- What is/was your occupation?

I have to second the why did you move to Kentucky question.
Also;
Where did you live in Texas?
Is it true, or just a rumor, that your wife helped set up the board just to keep an eye on you?? ;D ;D ;D
What was the greates moment for you as a UK fan?

Hey!!! This is cool, thanks for the questions everyone. They are easy questions too. Except for the "direct objects, run-ons and word fragments in your personal life" , now that one will be a challenge to both answer and stay out of trouble. I will get busy on some responses.

What do you think most people would be surprised to find out about you? (i.e. a unique skill, unusual hobby/interest, some personal achievement, etc) Can't wait to hear your answers! Been a Wildcat fan since 1997, ever since I arrived in Ky. The first season when they came back & beat duke & Stanford in the tournament and I got really excited about the Cats. Love the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks (loved them better when Mashburn was there). ;D Used to be able to attend 20-25 Ranger games each year and 3-4 Cowboy games. Don't get to do that now, but I do get to at least one UK football game and usually 1-2 basketball games each year so I am getting by! ;D Favorite hobby is fishing golfing. (what the heck is "fishing golfing"?) Collect sport cards, have about 25-30,000 baseball & football cards. Most surprising fact? Played basketball once with Mark Aguirre, Emerson Walls, Micheal Downs, Mark Tuine, Steve DiOssi and several other Mavericks & Cowboys. For some reason, none of them had their agents contact me. ;D ;D (But I haven't given up hope for that call yet!)

How did you meet your wife? Thats kind of a neat story. I had just moved to Kentucky, my dog & I got an apartment and I misplaced my keys. Had to call my landlord and ask him to meet me at the local Applebee's so he could bring me another key. Sat down at the bar and the waitress said I needed to meet this lady sitting 2 seats away because "she has really good jokes." So I met her and found out she was a Dallas Cowboy fan and then compared our knee surgery scars! After that, when she brings up how forgetful I am or how I leave things lying around & can't find them, I remind her if I wasn't that way, we wouldn't have met. She slaps me when I say that. (j/k) ;D ;D And yes, Bigbluefan, you know my wife. (ForeverBigBlue) ;D

My wife said the answer to your first question is "They are extremely important. Good grammar & punctuation are the building blocks to a strong society." ;D ;D ;D (I swear, she just said that!) First became acquainted with UK watching the Texas Western/Kentucky National Championship game. Of course, I was much younger then, and somewhat misguided as I did not follow the Cats as that time! I had taken a job as a field service engineer and was assigned to Kentucky for a 9-month project. About 5 weeks into the assignment, I met my wife. The assignment ended and my employer said either I worked in Mexico for a year or could find another job. I found another job. I liked Kentucky when my dog & I first got here...the trees, hills and all the green stuff, it was a very nice change from the heat and brown stuff in Texas. Was down at the Elkhorn fishing or golfing every night and fell in love with the state. Eventually fell in love with my wife. ;D ;D She had a good job and was well on her way to full retirement benefits, so it made more sense for us to stay here than her toss away nearly 20 years at her job. I am a contracts administrator for both government and commercial programs.

Is it true, or just a rumor, that your wife helped set up the board just to keep an eye on you?? ;D ;D ;D What was the greates moment for you as a UK fan? I lived in Arlington, which is between Dallas and Ft. Worth. Twenty minutes from the Rangers ballpark and 45 minutes from Cowboy Stadium. (And at least 20 minutes from the nearest convenience store by the time you fight the Texas traffic! LOL) It IS true my wife helped set up the board. It is NOT true that she did it to keep her eye on me. What she said was, "I had my eye on you before this board, I had my eye on you during this board, and I'll have my eye on you after this board!!" (You'd never know she was a Kentucky fan given that quote, huh?) She also took up golfing after we got married. Thank goodness she doesn't like to fish. Thats my only time alone! ;D ;D

Hey Bigbluefan. I have not read "Bootleggers Boy" yet, but thank you for reminding me about it. I will find my way to a Barnes & Noble next week and pick up a copy. Have not heard anything about Barry since his Cowboy days. Any info on him?
