Here's an oldie, but always a goodie for discussion:
You are having a dinner party and can invite any three people. living OR dead, to dine with you. Who would be your guests and why?
My answers to come soon!

My list would include:
JFK Betsy Ross Cawood Ledford
1. JFK - very simple: for a president who had an abbreviated administration, he had a HUGE impact on society for many years. And who knows...maybe he has some input on the various conspiracy theories that surrounded his assassination.
2. Betsy Ross - Plain ol' curiosity. Did you REALLY sew that flag by yourself? Who originated the pattern? How much thread did you use? How long did it take? (Ok, silly stuff, but hey...I want to know!)
3. Cawood Ledford - I had the honor of being Cawood's server at a retirement dinner that was held for him in the summer of 1992. I got to hear bits & pieces of various stories he was telling other attendees. He was charming, intelligent and I could listen to him talk all night. I can't think of a more interesting dinner companion for this party!

I'd like to add one more since you mentioned JFK.
4. Jim Garrison
I'd like to talk to him for about a week. He did such a great investigative job a few YEARS AFTER the assassination. Although he lost his case against Clay Shaw, aka Clay Bertand, he made one hell of an arguement and made alot of people open their eyes to the facts.

okay, since I get to set the menu:
we'll have pork barbecue, baked beans w/ bacon, and water.
I'll invite Jesus, Mohammed, and one of the Buddahs. I'll hire Jim Jones as server and bartender. I think that mixture of guests, servers, and food could either clear up a bunch of the crap goin' on in the world today; or, at least show how absurd it all is.

Let me see.... Adolph Rupp Bill Keightley Cawood Ledford Wonder what we'd have to talk about? ;D I'd fry a chicken, smash some taters, slice some maters, fix some fresh greenbean, candy some squash, butter some cornbread and have a Jam Cake for desert. Hmmm, hmmmm good ;D
