UK, U of L, IU 1-2-3 in attendance The University of Kentucky, U of L and Indiana University proved to have the most avid men's fans -- at least when attendance is the criterion. UK led the nation last season with an average of 21,014, followed by U of L at 18,929 and IU at 17,183. The Hoosiers made the biggest leap after averaging just 14,905 in 2000-01, their first season with Mike Davis as head coach. Western Kentucky, which ranked 84th with a 6,433 average, made the third-largest increase. The Hilltoppers averaged 4,007 in 2000-01. www.courier-journal.com/cjsports/news2002/06/23/sp062302s230329.htm

Just goes to show all those that were talking empty seats everywhere sure weren't very accurate, what a surprise.

21,000 isn't capacity, reggis. Thought capacity was close to 24,000. Does that figure include the paying customers that were no shows? Just a thought. Rupp is getting less crowded each year we advance into the Tubby reign. Must be the bad economy and all the competition for the entertainment dollar in Lexington that is causing this downward swing, know it couldn't have anything to do with the product being put on the floor. LOL

If I'm not mistaken, college basketball attendance on a whole went down last season.

I agree that confidence is very important, and it's hard to good without it. If I go into a game expecting and believing I'm going to good and win then most of the time I do, and if my opponent doesn't believe he can win then he doesn't. If I go into something not beliveing in myself then it ain't pretty.

Give me a break, Jim. Tubby has done nothing in 4 years to instill any confidence in me about his capability to measure up. You are right, what I think makes little difference as does your hyperbole.
Evidently the team has very little confidence in themselves or their coach from some of the efforts we have witnessed. So I guess they are brimming with confidence about other things.

It's really hard to say what this team thinks because no one's saw them play. You might be able to tell something about last years team, but this team is totally different. We lost our 2 co-captains, and 5 players in all. Plus we added 5 new players. We also will have a different assistant coach, and most likely a new strength and condidtioning coach. So this team we know nothing about their confidence.

Looks to me like we are right on average. And that includes games against Ky State and VMI. So it isn't like the building was half empty against SEC competition. We didn't really have any big name opponents besides UNC at home in non-conference games.

There's a bigger kicker than those two, the game against Marshall. I wasn't aware that consolation games counted as home games. Wonder which game's attendance, UK vs Marshall or WKU vs GWU, was counted?
