''The schedule is as exciting a schedule as I've encountered as a basketball coach,'' Pitino said. ''My only concern is that we won't have Marvin Stone early in the season. It probably will be one of the most difficult schedules in college basketball next season.'' Stone, a 6-foot-10 transfer from UK, won't be eligible to play until a Dec. 11 exhibition game against One World All-Stars, Pitino said. His first regular-season game would be the one against Seton Hall.

RP wants the UL/IU "rivalry" to continue but doesn't think Mike Davis does? This coming from the man who didn't want to play WKU? Thanks for the link Spam. Should be very interesting to see how Stone performs in the Pitino system.

Looks like Stone will be ready just in time for the UoL/UK game. It WILL be interesting to see IF he was treated wrong at UK or if he is just full of crap. I wish the kid nothing but the best but I want him to have his LUNCH handed to him when we play them

I imagine Stone to be really good. He has a lot to prove and a lot to show. If I was put in that situation I would suck every game, but one. Youd better believe he'll be a good player that game and I really dont want to hear that he failed at Kentucky because of Tubby. He may not have been conditioned as well as other teams, but college bball is more heart than muscle and Stone is going to play with a lot more heart that game. jmo.

I hope we don't regret the Marvin Stone situation. I have a feeling he's gonna put a hurting on UK when UK/UL hookup.

This is Marvin Stone we're talking about right?
I don't think Marvin could put a hurtin on UK even if he wanted to.
I do wish him well though.

Since Stone basicly screwed us by not at least finishing last season, and then by going to a hated rival, I dont wish him anything but bad luck. Sour grapes? ? You bet they are!

"I don't think Marvin could put a hurtin on UK even if he wanted to"
Come on Spam, come on Kybluegal, Marvin was rated #1 out of High school, and showed many times in his three years at Kentucky that he indeed had the skills to justify that ranking. Marvin's problem was an attitude that Tubby was not able to correct. Even worse, perhaps, an attitude that Tubby was responsible for. The question is, will Marvin's attitude change under Piturncoat? I think we all know the answer, deep down. And perhaps Pitino will score an unearned run for this matter, because Marvin's back is now against the wall, ...he will be playing with vengeance regardless of Pitinego's influence. But one thing is clear, Tubby struck out.

Marvin may have been highly ranked out of high school, as many players were, but I don't remember him playing like a #1 superstar. He had some good games (I'll give him that) but I don't see him dominating in the paint against us. Tubby struck outI don't see it that way but time will tell. Looking at high school rankings/performances, Felipe Lopez was supposed to be the second coming of Micheal Jordon. It didn't happen. Is that his coaches fault? Not im my opinion.

How can you make a comment like this===========Youd better believe he'll be a good player that game and I really dont want to hear that he failed at Kentucky because of Tubby. tubbygoat and NOT blame Tubby for it? WHO is responsible for the developement of athletes if NOT the head coach? NOT to slam your comment, but Tubby failed miserably with Stone, albeit Stone had a few personal problems that were definatly NOT handled well by the coaching staff and I believe that had a lot to do with Stone NOT living up to all the hype he had coming out of HS. Stone REGRESSED from his freshman season at UK. I THOUGHT, {SMALL MIND} that Stone was going to have a KILLER Sophmore season but started a downward spiral that continued into his junior season. SO, WHY did he regress?

I believe the regression had something to do with the head coach that was coaching him. I guess Tubby didn't have enough time for Stone, when he had Estill, Camara, and I believe Magilore for a year. Tubby again tried to put too many eggs in his basket and lost out. But hey, its the players fault, bad attitudes. You know the same ole same ole.

Marvin may have been the best player out of highschool, but in my opinion he did not show that while at UK...I still don't think Marvin is going to fit in and like Pitinos style..Heck he could fool me but if he does play like he is supposedly supposed to more power to him. I don't see him flourishing and playing any better then he did under Tubby..But that is JMHO.
