The National College Sports Network, a new digital cable channel coming out early next year, hopes to tap into a niche by augmenting the powerhouses of football and basketball with such under-appreciated sports as track and field, gymnastics and lacrosse.

I think its an outstanding idea. Ok, sure there are concerns if you have the audience for this. But remember the Winter Olympics? Boy were the execs shocked when they found out they had huge ratings for CURLING! for heaven's sake!
Lacrosse, gymnastics, and other "minor" sports at the collegiate level are extremely entertaining IMO. Actually, they are frequently MORE entertaining than some of the regular season hockey and NBA games.
