A Western Kentucky University student found dead in his residence hall room died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, an official said. Nathan Eisert, 20, a sophomore from Louisville, was found about 8:15 p.m. Monday in his room in Pearce-Ford Tower, said Western spokesman Bob Skipper. Eisert was the son of Jan Ulrich of Louisville and Glenn Eisert of Bowling Green. Skipper said there was no suicide note found. "This is a very tragic situation," said WKU President Gary Ransdell. "We will keep Nathan and his family in our prayers and offer any support that we can. It is devastating any time a young person's life is ended prematurely." Eisert was a walk-on member of the Hilltopper basketball team but had been dismissed recently for academic reasons.
