Coach Tubby Smith, you had better watch your back. Scott Padgett is serving notice. One day, he wants to be the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats. But coach Smith need not worry anytime real soon, “I hope to be in the NBA for a long time to come,” said the former Kentucky star, a 2-time all-NCAA Final Four Team selection. “But when my NBA career is over, I am pretty focused on what I want to do. I want to coach. And for me there is only one place I want to be. And that’s Kentucky. I know that it’s not going to happen right away. I am prepared to work at it. I may not start even as an assistant at Kentucky. But I know that’s where I want to be in the end."

Scott may not be in the NBA for as long as he thinks. That cut throat league has away of clearing path for the new (potentially promising) draftees. But it is good to see some Kentucky boy express a desire to return home and work up to being the coach as a lifetime goal.
