Despite a funding impasse that threatens to kill planned Rupp Arena renovations, the University of Kentucky's home court will get the long-desired, all-blue seating. Bill Owen, president of the Lexington Center Corp., said yesterday that the new seats will be installed while other Rupp improvements such as new scoreboards and an updated sound system remain on hold pending passage of a state budget that includes renovation funding. |

Its about #*($ time!!! Why on earth did we have to endure those horrid orange (among other colors) seats for so long?
New scoreboards & sound systems are nice, but you can't tell squat about them when you watch on tv. On the other hand, you CAN tell that there are NOT Kentucky-blue seats, but rather nasty Vol orange. UGH!!!

SWEET. ITs really going to pump up the atmosphere in Rupp next season. Couple that with Student seating, which still not too great, but a change will help things! Looking forward to seeing the 'new' Rupp.

Not sure about the color of blue though. If they are keeping the dark blue on the court, they need something not to drastically different like in the picture. But hey, Im glad that they arent orange and red so it doesnt really matter! Anyone know if they will be cushioned like now or will they put in new plastic seats like at Applebee's Park?

I had heard that they were going to be smaller. Which is a total bummer. The seats for example in the RCA Dome are much smaller. I felt like the man next to me had his seat and half of mine too last year. I know there is an arm rest inbetween, but it helps little. sigh If you are a big person it makes it uncomfortable. BTW, a cup holder would be nice too.  |

if they dont just reupholster (?) them, I would like to see seats like the Legends place. Nice seats with cupholders so I wont get bourbon poured on me ever again. Plus the color might be more directly matched.

I would also like to see them paint all the concrete like they did on the field at Memorial. They painted it all blue and white and put all americans name on it. Rupps got a lot of concrete and I want to see color, grey. would also like to see the upper row benches painted again. its been years since they touched those up.
