Rick Griffith, assistant women's basketball coach at the University of Kentucky, has resigned at UK and accepted the position as head coach of the girls' basketball team at Paul Dunbar High School in Lexington.
Griffith has been at UK for five seasons, including the 1998-99 campaign when the Wildcats posted a 21-11 record and went to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
"Rick has given a lot to our program," UK coach Bernadette Mattox said. "I appreciate his contributions over the last five years. He'll do a great job at Dunbar and we wish him the best."
Mattox has begun the search for a new assistant coach.

God bless Bernadette Mattox's heart, but our women are just terrible. I think they should find a new coach, and maybe get us to 500.
