Women's Southeastern Conference coaches are developing a real love-hate relationship with new Kentucky Coach Mickie DeMoss. Professionally, they love seeing one of their own get a chance to succeed. They just wish she would find her success in another conference. "As if the Southeastern Conference isn't tough enough," sighed Vanderbilt Coach Melanie Balcomb. "Now, it just gets tougher and tougher." Coaches at the SEC Media Days yesterday sat up a little straighter and spoke a little more pointedly when asked about DeMoss and the potential for Kentucky to become a conference power. "It's a basketball crazy state that was just waiting for someone to come and get them excited about women's basketball," said Joe Ciampi, DeMoss's former boss at Auburn. "Now they have that someone." Even though a whistle hasn't been blown to start the season, coaches have seen an immediate impact since Kentucky hired the long-time assistant from Tennessee in March.

DeMoss seems to be a phenominal recruiter. ;D Everyone is starting to feel the same feeling about women's basketball as they do with men's basketball. I am so excited for our women's program. DeMoss has DRAMATICALLY changed thoughts and goals for UK, and as the column says, a whistle hasn't even been blown. I hope, and I'm sure DeMoss will coach the same way as she recruits. oooooooooOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH L-A-D-Y CATS CATS CATS ;D
