Kentucky shot a season-low 29.2 percent from the field, falling to Xavier 75-60 on Wednesday night in Memorial Coliseum. Sophomore Jenny Pfeiffer led UK with a season-high 21 points, hitting a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line. The Wildcats (4-3) trailed by only three at the half (33-30) but couldn’t find the basket in the second half, going almost seven minutes without scoring while Xavier built a 20-point lead. UK went 19-of-65 from the field, including a dismal 1-of-16 from behind the arc. "This was our worst performance of the year,” UK Coach Mickie DeMoss said. “We just didn’t perform well. I don’t have any reasons or excuses. We didn’t shoot the ball well, we didn’t defend well and we didn’t rebound well. The only positive thing I can say is we did fight at the end. We pressed and tried to get back in the game. We kept fighting and that is one positive thing.” Link
