15. KENTUCKY has been on one of the most consistent upswings of any team in the country since the arrival of Coach Mickie DeMoss. Look for that trend to continue, and potentially more, as 6-6 center Sarah Elliott (11.2 ppg/5.9 rpg), 6-3 Jennifer Humphrey (6.1 ppg/8.5 rpg), 5-8 Carly Omerud (9.6 ppg/ 3.3 apg), 5-11 Chante Bowman, 5-8 sharpshooter Jenny Pfieffer (10.5, 38% from three), and 6-3 Eleia Roddy (7.8 ppg/6.8 rpg) lead the return of four starters and seven of their top eight. Few teams return this much of last season’s roster, with this amount of experience, so the Big Blue will have a big advantage in experience. DeMoss has built Kentucky around the hopes of having the potential success laid out in anticipation of this ’06 – ’07 season. The Wildcats have the size, experience, depth and talent to claw their way up the national polls and challenge for an SEC title and make an NCAA run. The Cats are definitely a dark-(blue)-horse come tournament time. www.sportspagemagazine.com/published/college-sports/game-on-200607-womens-col.shtml
