Celtics are looking ugly tonight. They're gonna end up with a tied series if they don't turn this game around. Rondo is ineffective along with half of Boston's team. Down 17 at the half and Kobe hasn't even made a field goal...

Phil backs a defender off of Rondo and the Lakers get a big lead. Doc answers by taking Rondo out, forcing the Lakers to play 5 on 5 and they come back and win. Not hating.....but that's what happened.

Eddie House has been very effective. I don't think the Lakers expected him to play much, being that he's behind Rondo and Cassel in the rotation, but like you said Stagger it was effective

Putting Pierce on Kobe was a big move too.

My Lakers are all but finished here but I get to see Rondo get his ring. Win win situation.

Well I have to admit I was worried before the series started and felt like the Lakers would win it, but the Celtics played amazing defense for the better part of the series while the Lakers just looked lost.
There is no doubt that Kobe is a great player and sure fire hall of famer, but the Celtics really made him look innefective throughout most of the playoffs.
It was great seeing Rondo have such an impact on the game last night. He looked relaxed and confident. Doc Rivers has done a great job with Rajon.
Garnett was so funny to watch after the game. He has to be the most emotional player in the NBA.

Thinking along the same lines as BC .... I just knew the Lakers would win this series. Boston had too much trouble with Atlanta and Cleveland. Not one road win ... and the Hawks were an "average" team at best. At least, that's what I thought before that series started.
Kobe is a great player but the "closest" he'll come to MJ is via Coach Jackson. That's where they are separated. In all fairness, Kobe should not be compared to MJ to begin with. People like to talk about how he can't win a championship without Shaq but in the same sense ... MJ couldn't win without Pippen either.
My Lakers are still young. With a healthy Andrew Bynum and possibly a few roster changes, Kobe and Phil still have plenty of time to rise back to the top. It just makes me sick that they literally "gave up" this game.
Having said all that ... the Celtics deserved this series. They played like a team with something to prove and they did just that. They may as well get ready to retire the Paul Pierce jersey and hang it in the rafters. The young man from Inglewood has been flat-out fantastic throughout his "green" years.
I'm still amazed by the talent Rondo shows night in and night out. What an athlete! The young man has nothing else to prove ... other than to himself. In two short years he's came from bluegrass royalty to Celtic royalty and his reward is an NBA championship. Shot or no shot, he's the general of the green army and lead his troops to victory.

For sure the Lakers aren't going away. I would not be surprised to see these two go at it again next season as well. The Lakers are only going to get better. I can only hope that the C's to the same.
