Earning most valuable player honors at the University of Kentucky basketball camp may not have been a surprise to Adam Williams. What happened next was. Instead of going home to West Virginia with only his MVP trophy, he also went home with a scholarship offer from UK coach Tubby Smith. Not bad for a player who still has two years of high school basketball to play. Williams has a perfect 4.0 grade-point average and knew if Smith offered a scholarship, he should take it. Never mind that it will be about 17 months before he can officially sign with the Wildcats before the start of his senior season. He's not only convinced that Smith will still be coaching the Wildcats in two years, but he believes any recent struggles the team has had will end soon. "Maybe you can find a few bad things about Kentucky, but overall it is still the best program around," Williams said. "Having a chance to join a program like that is a dream come true."
