COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 2, 2002) – After three days of Trials that featured 31 participants and three others who had requested a waiver from the Trials, 16 finalists for the 2002 USA Basketball Junior World Championship Qualifying Team were selected and announced today by the USA Basketball Men's Collegiate Committee, which is chaired by Terry Holland, University of Virginia athletic director emeritus. To be eligible for consideration for the USA Basketball Junior World Championship Qualifying Team, a player must be a U.S. citizen and 18-years-old or younger (born on or after Jan. 1, 1984).
