If there is one player who is sought after by almost every major program in the nation it’s power forward Chane Behanan from Bowling Green High School in Kentucky. Behanan plays for the Ohio Basketball Club and is one of the top recruits on West Virginia’s wish list.
Behanan is originally from Cincinnati and WVU head coach Bob Huggins and assistant coach Eric Martin have been after this kid for nearly five years. The top recruit was committed to the University of Cincinnati for a short time, but then decommitted because he wasn’t sure and received multiple scholarship offers.
The Queen City native has been hinting that he is very interested in playing for John Calipari at the University of Kentucky. The Wildcats haven’t made a scholarship offer yet, but Behanan says even when they do offer he is most likely not going to make his decision right away.
The rising senior is currently the seventh best prospect in the nation according to Scout.com and says the Mountaineers are high on his list.
The 6-foot-6, 255-pound forward has named the National Basketball Player’s Association’s Top 100 MVP last season, averaging 16.5 points per game and had the best individual performance with 19 points.
