Randall Cobb admits he's struggling with the Kentucky football team's three-game losing streak. In his attempt to find ways to lead his teammates out of a funk, Cobb turned on Wednesday to an unexpected ally.
He set up a meeting with UK basketball coach John Calipari.
"We talked a lot about leadership," Cobb said. "I'm always looking for ways that I can help my team to get back on track. It's been rough for us, it has, especially coming up short like we have. Coach Cal, me and him just sat down and talked. He gave me a few pointers. We also discussed my future after the season with basketball, getting my basketball uniform ready."
That last part was a joke.
But Cobb was serious about discussing leadership with Calipari. He had strength coach Ray "Rock" Oliver, who works with both programs, set up the meeting.
"(Calipari) doesn't know a lot about football, but he knows a lot about leadership," Cobb said. "He was just telling me that I'm a leader, it's obvious to see that I'm a leader, and I've got got use myself in ways that I normally wouldn't -- just reaching out to my teammates and telling them how much I can do to help them, to make their jobs that much easier. So I'm going to make sure I do that this week, try to find out all the little things I can to help my teammates out."

I wonder how that made Joker feel. He goes to the basketball coach for advice on leadership instead of his own coach.
