Former NC State point guard Ryan Harrow has decided to transfer to Kentucky, according to Evan Daniels. He will be eligible to suit up in the 2012-13 season and gives Kentucky what is essentially their first member of the 2012 class. He chose the Cats over Louisville and some other schools. But just remember Louisville was in there.
The addition of Harrow is big on a number of levels, but first and foremost what it means for 2012. The class isn’t loaded at the point guard position like it has been in years past and Kentucky will now have a former five-star recruit in his third year of college taking over the position (assuming Marquis Teague leaves after one year). That experience, which includes a year in Calipari’s system, is a decided advantage and something that, without him, would have not been possible until 2014. Now Kentucky will not only have that veteran presence at the point in 2012, but they’ll also benefit by having him in practice to push Teague every day. Plus, he had considered the Cards and that’s a little added bonus. Adding Harrow was a very nice move by Calipari and his staff.

Rodney Purvis, who is a highly-ranked 2012 guard who decommitted from Louisville, said by Twitter he would still consider Kentucky: “Harrows decision doesn’t change my outlook on UK at all. Unless coach tells me otherwise !”
