These two games put us in a position that we had to grow up quick and our flaws were evident. Even with all of our young mistakes we still won a game and had a chance to win the other. Now we can go into a learning mode for a while against lesser competition to iron out the wrinkles. Alex can gain the fire to dominate. Archie can learn to play more under control and make decision. Noel and Willie can learn when to go for blocks and when to stay put. We can learn our offense and work on defense. For a young team to come back after being 14 down to a senior-laden Duke team shows the potential these kids possess! Wow!!! Did they "learn" with just four days of practice since the Maryland game......I'm impressed Rebounds: Duke 26, UK 28.

SK you are so right. I am really impressed with both Poythress and Goodwin; they both possess what it takes to be superstars. Goodwin really reminds me of Kid Gilchrist at the beginning of last season. Michael played a little out of control at first as well but had that 600 hp motor churning all the time. Goodwin has slightly less hp, but is actually a better scorer than Michael at this point. If he had the size of Michael he'd be awesome. That being said; if Poythress had the motor of either of the above he'd be an automatic candidate for player of the year. He flat out can be another Mashburn with a little work on his outside shot. The kid is going to be something to watch come March.
