Yes and USA has the audacity to air a 3 hour program in tribute to the man. If he killed his wife and kids he got exactly what he desereded except he shouldn't have been able to do himself. This kind of behavior just blows my mind. I have a 6 year old son, and even the thought of him being hurt just makes my skin crawl.
I just don't understand it.

I never saw this one coming, not Benoit. Like Matt said on KSR, he never had the drug problems, the ego or the political agenda that can cause trouble in a locker room. I could see this from Eddie Guererro, but not Benoit. This is really out of left field.
I won't bang on the WWE or USA for doing the tribute. They had an extra hour booked for Raw and from what I've read, they found out about the deaths at 4 pm, giving them only 3 hours notice before the show started. Not a single person would've been able to go out and work last nite. I did read homocide last nite, but I didn't see murder/suicide until this morning, so we can't say for sure if they knew then or not. I think they did the best they could in a short a mount of grief sticken time.

Well I think there was plenty of indication that things were wrong based on the "strange" text messages he had been sending along with the cancellation of his appearance prior to RAW because of "personal" reasons sited by the WWE. It's apparent the WWE knew that something was amiss or they would not have been the one's to call for the police to check on them. USA as do all networks has a back up plan for cancellations. They could easily have filled that time slot until they had more facts.
As for him not having a drug problem; that's something that we don't know. I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that he like most of those artificial heroes may have had a steroid problem and that for sure affects the brain.
I don't see how anyone could say they saw this coming. He has been made out to be a hero to many, but let's face it; it's make believe. What kind of person he was when he wasn't in character may have and apparently was much different than when he was the superficial hero.
I too am grief stricken, but not for Benoit. I'm grief stricken for that little child, and his wife. This guy was flat out scum and did the most incomprehensible thing he could have done. If he had problems and killed himself that's one thing, but he apparently took the life of a little innocent child. I have no compassion for him at all for that very reason.

If this is indeed what happened, then he was just scum.

It is now known that Benoit strangled his wife and then smothered his son before hanging himself.
As I suspected would be the case they are now looking into the use of steroids as a possible cause of him doing what he did. In many ways I think that the WWE has some responsibility in these athletes getting to this point. They make their characters bigger than life, and the only way for most to ever get there is through the use of steroids and other performance enhancing drugs. It's well known that the side effects of steroids can be devastating not only to the athlete, but to those close to them as well. I would love to see them institute a drug testing policy in the WWE. That'll never happen because they'd go out of business.
This whole thing is just sad. I think about that little boy and what was done to him, and it just tears at my heart.

Reports are stating that the little boy was full of human growth hormones and that he had needle marks all over his arms...

He (the boy) had fragile X syndrome....a form a mental retardation that also affected his size. Looks like Benoit tried to make him bigger. There's also a rumor of a safe deposit box owned by Nancy that had proof of past abuse by Benoit. The more that comes out on this, the worse it gets.

From the minimal reports I've seen, Chris was on multiple meds of a somewhat "questionable" nature. Just a sad situation.
