These are the 8 main candidates listed by the Washington Post.
If you had to pick on of these guys who would it be? (regardless of your party affiliation)

I'll go Obama....he does lack experience, but looking at the current state of our government, that may be the best thing about him.

I like Obama and his youth appeals to me (or he appeals to youth), but I honestly think Hillary will make a better president than him or Edwards. I actually kind of liked Richardson too in the debate the other day.

I think I'd probably go with Joe Biden because he would most likely be a one term president.

I'm having a tough time with this choice. I'm pretty sure I'm going with Edwards on this vote. I think I would vote for any one of them over any of the GOP candidates except perhaps McCain.
I still have a lot to learn about these candidates in the next month before the CA primary

I wouldn't pick any out of this bunch. Of all of the candidates, the 3 front runners are the least qualified. Biden has the most experience and he's nowhere to be found.

Have to disagree with you. A lot of people will vote Democrat simply because a lot of Americans are in a bad way right now and a Republican is at the helm. Regardless if certain things are directly his fault or not, for a lot of people, he's guilty by association. I also think a lot of people are irritated with Republicans who give a list of beliefs (pro-life, pro-war, I Love Jesus sign in front yard, etc.) you must adhere to in order to be a conservative republican. Their self-righteousness is absurd. I can't see any way we elect a Republican president.

six months ago I would have whole heartily agreed with your last statement stagger. But I think if McCain gets the nomination the Republicans might have a chance to win. He'll be able to pick up the vote of many independents and middle of the road people. I know many republicans disslike him, but who else are they going to vote for.

However, there are times when other options run their course and it becomes a necessary evil. Second, conservatism does indeed consist of a core set of values and beliefs. It exsist outside of the boundries of any political party. You're showing your hand by the snide remarks like "I love Jesus sign in front yard". You may not be a conservative, I suspect you aren't, or like conservatism, I suspect you don't, but at least get it right.

You may not be a conservative, I suspect you aren't, or like conservatism, I suspect you don't, but at least get it right. Dude, there are snide comments in nearly every post I make here. Had my comments been made about liberals I would've mentioned a drunk Ted Kennedy or given a Howard Dean "EEEEEEEEEEYAH!". Honestly, I can't stand political figures as a whole. Anyone who places PARTY over COUNTRY can't be trusted to do the right thing. I believe that people shouldn't make a career out of serving in office and maintaining an "old boys network" is haunting our country. I don't want Hillary elected because, well, she's Hillary. I'm afraid Obama doesn't have the nads to make the tough decisions. I worry about McCain because in the debates I saw, he never could explain how he'd PAY for everything he wanted to do and because he comes off (to me anyways) as the guy who would take the most amount of time in regards to Iraq. In the primary, I voted for Ron Paul. Closet liberal I am not.
