PS Did ARH have a large layoff over your way? If so, hope it didn't affect u. Yeah. 48 people cut loose and rumor is they aren't finised yet. I wasn't one of them though. I've got too much seniority. We lost 5 (so far) from our unit. As you already know, our unit takes care of those unable to care for themselves. Many times it's too big a task for the family. We we're short-handed anyway and now we're expected to maintain EXCELLENT patient care, comply with all the regulations of long term care, admit more rehab patients, and provide up-to-the-minute plan of corrections for L & R.......WHILE BEING UNDERSTAFFED! Long term care is regulated MORE than Nuclear power plants! Our past Joint Commission surveyer informed us about that one. I don't know how they expect us to reach their full expectations without sufficient staff but we'll give it our best shot. If not, I may get my WV certification.
