a question here there are some orlando supporters and some that dont support him
what would it take for the supporters to fianally say enough is enough
as for me im not a supporter but for me to change my mind about him we need to stop losing 10 games a year and have a real shot at making the final 4 every year if we make it or not thats a diffreant story but to at least have the change to make it that means bringing players with some talent and not have 10-11 role players on your roster

Enough is enough? Hmmm....perhaps some losing seasons, NCAA violations...that might make me want to see another coach.
However, when you are winning 20+ games per season, winning the conference (or tying for the conference crown), and running a CLEAN program, its hard to say grab another coach because there is NO guarantee you will get improvement. Quite the opposite is true actually: the odds of getting someone that would do WORSE than Tubby is much more likely.
So what would it take to have someone like yourself say one positive thing about Tubby?

It doesn't matter who the coach will be next year, we will not be as good as this year. Tubby is running the program in the ground. We will have at least 12 losses this year. The SEC is real tough this year and Tubby has failed to get the talent to keep us at the top.

The continued saga of Tubby's "poor recruits" is amazing. Blue Ribbon Basketball, the "announcer's Bible", has only 2 SEC teams in their Top 10 Recruiting Classes for 2002-03 - Florida and Kentucky. UK is listed 8th. Louisville - which appears to have landed "lots of big-time recruits" - is listed at #20. Last year in the "Big Dance" UK was beaten in the Sweet 16 by a #1 seed - Maryland - who "won it all" and Florida was beaten in the 1st Rd by #12 seed Creighton. No other SEC power made it past the 2nd Rd. No - I am not "satisfied" with - just the Sweet 16. But losing to the "National Champions" is not an embarassment! My point being - recruiting is not in the "sad shape" - that "some" lead us to believe. GO Cats!!!

recruiting can always be better though. We got some great freshman players and our forwards next year are going to be superbulous(!!!) Taking some juco players will help out a lot. I think much of the current problem is we have too many players. For most teams Azubuike would start because we know he's a good player. We need to try and fill our spots each year.

Glad you're here.

i agree Teddy. He hit the nail. Florida has been knocked out in the first and second rounds each of the last 2 years. Bama lost to Kent St (of course so did a lot of other teams) Georgia got spanked by So Ill. We held our own against the best team in the country and if not fading away in the end (we were down 6 most of the game) we might have been able to pull it off. Of course that is just wishful thinking. People fail to realize that of course nobody wants to lose in the Sweet 16...nobody wants to lose period. But we could do so much worse and being in the top 25, getting at least a 5 seed (3 on avg), winning 20 games, being 1st in the SEC East, winning the SEC championship, and never being knocked out in the first round and with more than 8 players never being knocked out in the second round. Excuse me, if I am dumb, but isn't there everything in the world that could be worse? I will never understand Ohio's claim we are at the bottom of bottoms.

For us to have had a great recruiting class last year, it's not exactly showing up. So far and even pre injury AB, who has been likened to a top 10 HS'er, has looked completly lost and KA is lucky to get 10 minutes a game. Something is not exactly right here. Just so happened those 2 players were fairly easy gets or had some extra baggage or we would have never gotten them. Tubby has not piqued the interest of top 10 type players in years.

If we continue to get players like Keith Bogans (class of 99), Cliff Hawkins and Gerald Fitch (00), Chuck Hayes (01), and KA (02), I certainly will not be complaining. Furthermore, if we are able to break our freshmen in slowly (KA is getting more PT/game than Chuck was at this point last year, and he turned out ok), all the better. Personally, I'm glad we don't have to start three freshmen like UNC does. It shows that we have recruited, developed, and retained enough players that we do not have to rely on freshmen.

What have our new players done so far this year? Not much of anything. If Estill does not get that extra year and Tubby doesn't sway Lang to come to UK, we are in deep trouble. I like Chuck Hayes a lot as a player and think he is a great person. He has an excellent background. But, he does not have the size nor is he a Charles Barkley type to be able to bang and come out the winner against top college post players. Granted, he should improve but don't think he is All American basketball material, even though he is the "All American Boy" in other areas. Othe than Prince and Bogans, Tubby's recruiting has not been up to the standards to keep us up with the big boys.

Does - UK - have to go 8-20 like the Tarheels did last year!!!! And - then have our Frosh play - to prove their "worth"? I think not!! Our Freshmen - have time to be Frosh. Always - UK is compared to Duke, Carolina, and Arizona - check how many JC recruits they have!!! A program is built on HS recruits. With an adding "every now and then" of an exceptional JC player!! Antwain is such a player. He led Wabash Valley to a 68-7 record and JCNC and E-town to the State Title. Expect more!! Remember - this is the highest level Div. I in the land. Antwain will be just "fine!" Our new recruits are just that - "new men" to the program - not "supermen"!! If they "had to play" right away - Tubby would be faulted for previous recruiting classes - when they don't play - our current recruiting is "bad"!! My only complaint - no big man - for the future!! Then I look at Pitt - with no starter over 6'8" - and "they ain't doin' to bad!" GO BIG BLUE!!! Keep the faith!!!

Hard to keep the faith when one sees what we have coming in, course if one service rates them highly, that's vindication for Tubby's recruiting. How about the numerous others that have neither highly rated? Where is the center, where has the PG been for years? Optimism in the future with Tubby? No Way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess one could see solace in being rated what 18th? Better than being out of the top 25 like in the past. I enjoy the wins when we play with heart, tim. I just don't see a lot of promise to be a top 5 program in the near future.
PS Did ARH have a large layoff over your way? If so, hope it didn't affect u.
