With the money and prestiege a UK coach gets, a coach would be a fool not to take the job. They have the greatest tradition and greatest fans in all of college basketball. It would be a challange to say the least. But, would we want a coach that would not be up to the challange?

I can't think of any coach that can give what some fans want.

I really think that many coaches will turn this job down. It takes a highly esteemed person for a job like this because fans are up in the coaches **** all the time and some coaches just wouldnt want that.

Very true!!!!! Expectations and "demands" of us - the "UK Faithful" keep many away!!!! Lute said no!!! Stayed away! Brey - ND has low expectations in BB. Self - at one of the "under-achievers" of all time!! John P - has to prove himself as a" Head man". Billy D - he could be "bought" - but FL has their problems!! UofL - I don't think so!!!!!!! Ricky P's great recruiting class was ranked #20 by "Blue Ribbon" - Tubby's "terrible recruits" were ranked #8. I am not "happy" with UK's results - but - I wasn't always "happy" with the results when Rupp, Hall, Sutton, or Ricky coached either!!! Point being - yes - impossible to please fans - unless a NC !!! And saying UL will win a NC before UK - with Tubby as coach - now that is a fact based prediction!!!! ;D And - so it goes - the never-ending saga!!!!!! Great win over the Vols!!!!! GO MY BLUE!!!!

If Tubby announced tomorrow that he was leaving , we would have at least 5 TOP COACHES knocking themselves out to be considered for the Kentucky opportunity.
Our problem is not that we couldn't get an outstanding coach that would take us back to Elite Status.
Our real problem is that Tubby holds all of the cards whether he will remain our coach or not.

it is steady makes bad teams good makes great teams good i guess you can call him a good coach Tulsa 1991-92 17-13 1992-93 15-14 1993-94 23-8 (NCAA 16) 1994-95 24-8 (NCAA 16) Total 79-43 (64.8%) Georgia 1995-96 21-10 (NCAA 16) 1996-97 24-9 (NCAA 64) Total 45-19 (70.3%) Kentucky 1997-98 35-4 (NCAA Champ) 1998-99 28-9 (NCAA 8) 1999-00 23-10 (NCAA 32) 2000-01 24-10 (NCAA 16) 2001-02 22-10 (NCAA 16) Total 132-43 (75.4%) UK deserves better then 10 losses a year and no elite 8 games the last 3 years ,4 after this year and with the players coming it will be at least 5 years like ive said on other boards UL will win a national championship before UK does if orlando stays at uk Dude, your little stat sheet ended with the 01-02 season, and the fact that we've had 2 elite 8 games since that time contradicts the part of your post regarding elite 8 games. Better luck next time.

Tubby is the only coach at Uk to have 3 straight double digit loses. The future does'nt look bright!

Who could do any worse? This is Ky. Anybody could come in here and win. Tubby has. Hasn't he? Ky is bigger than any coach. Period!!

Tubby is the only coach at Uk to have 3 straight double digit loses. The future does'nt look bright! We don't have that, there are a few wins between those L's. If you meant that we had 3 L's that were double digit ones, fine. But we don't have what you said.

i think Mr. Pitino is the better coach ive been a UK fan since 1965 when i was 6 years old orlando is a good coach but he is not the coach for UK and i stand by my statement UL will win a nat. champ before UK wins it again if orlando stays at UK ill copy and paste this and post it again when that happens for the record I AM NOT A UL fan So be it but if you feel you all the time have to put all this faults as you call them of Tubby's then why don't you put faults of Pitinos but I guess you think his butt is golden and he doesn't do anything wrong, right?? And I will say this again PITINO AND LOUISVILLE WILL NOT I REPEAT NOT WIN A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE Tubby AND KENTUCKY DO AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With all due respect, how can you say that. I hate the Cardinals and Pitino, but look at the direction both programs are headed. I hope and pray you are right but I do not see it. They are fresh off a final four and we continue to pay 2.5million dollars a year for a very mediocre product.

Drivefor8, take a look at the date of the quoted post. This thread was dredged up from 2003. Belinda doesn't even post here anymore. Knowing her though she'll still be upbeat and positive about the program and Tubby. ;D
