Hey Spam, that Michigan coach won the NCAA his first year. Though alot of people said he was given a National Title because he didn't have to coach that team. Saying the coach before him had prepared them to be winners. JALSN

Here's a flip-side from the stat puller. National Titles Rupp - 4 Hall - 1 Pitino - 1 Smith - 1 Back to back to back 10 loss seasons. Guilty. I'll give you that one. First coach in NCAA history (I think) to win a National Title his first year. Smith In my opinion, Tubby's national championship should have a giant, nean, flashing asteric next to it. Those were Pitino's players who still had Pitino's work ethic firmly instilled in their minds. As you said, the stats can be misleading......... Stats can be anything we want them to be. Kinda like statistics. We can't change the past so why don't we try to look forward to the future. Let's get a few more games under our belt before we throw out the white towel. What do you say?

Reguardless if you like Tubby or not, I guarantee you of one thing, he is by far the best coach Kentucky will ever have as long as Barnhardt is in charge. If Barney will not pay to keep a top notch football coach like Morris, it is not even thinkable that he would spring for a top notch basketball coach when Tubby leaves. Anyone who thinks Barney would have that kind separation between basketball and football is kidding themselves. A second rate coach with second rate pay will be hired to replace Tubby.

Has Guy already accepted the position? Has Barnhart already named his replacement? Wouldn't that discussion be better suited for the football forum?

I'll leave my thoughts about Morriss to the football board. I will say this, though, if Tubby leaves (and I pray he doesn't), UK will undoubtedly fight for the best basketball coach available. Barnhart never had a reputation for being "cheap" at Oregon--bringing Dennis Erickson there--and I don't know why we think he would come here and look to establish that kind of reputation.

We're all glad you're praying teddy, Tubby needs the prayers and you need the practice.

And, if we allow Barnhart to have his way, UK will be known as Oregon SOUTH since he is bringing people who worked for him here. We are NOT Oregon ANYTHING

Barny MAY have brought a GOOD football coach to Oregon with Dennis Erickson, but, he sure as hell was cheap when he hired one at UK. Guess he had no choice since everybody he did contact turned him down until a worn out 61 year old believed that HE could get the job and $750,000 a year. Beats the hell out of unemployement any day. ;D ;D
