Man, this forum is dead. After this year, it might have to be buried as well. Whatever happened to all those vitriolic debates?

It'll make a comeback in the future.

Maybe we'll start a losing streak and then everything will once again be 'hunky dory'
Where's the passion bro? Where's the fire?
We're kicking butt and taking names....have been for two months now. Two months without a blemish. Destroying top teams at home and on the road.
Everyone, including myself, said the SEC will be our true test and we've passed with flying colors. Even beyond my blue shaded wildest expectations.
This has been and is a very fun year, you have to admit. If the past was so bad, why focus attention there?

It'll make a comeback in the future. Of course it will. Because somewhere along the road, UK will lose a basketball game. Those who ridiculously demand perfection will reemerge from their now two-month long hibernation and once again call for the coach's head. Though in more subtle terms, it will go something like this: "I don't care about other schools. UK is not supposed to lose, and they are not supposed to play any other style of basketball besides full-court, hardcore run and gun the whole game. If they lose, someone is to blame. The coach is responsible for recruiting, training, conditioning and preparing the players for the game, as well as the game plan. The team lost today, so the coach is obviously at fault. Get rid of him! UK should not lose!" Should Tubby Smith do as well as he has done in the past 6 years at any other school (or just change his style of play to the one all of the much more knowledgeable fans know to be the best), there would be no comeback (or even beginning) to most of these "vitriolic debates."

Tubby will return to norm soon enough-1 season in 11 before now with less than eight losses. This season has been a great job by any standard, will it last long term? Seriously doubt it. Recruiting will tell the tale.
BTW TR, isn't the coach responsible for all those things you mention? Losing in itself is not bad, the way we have lost the last few years-with little effort or preparation at times-is.
We win at the rate we have now and style of play is moot. I do think even you will admit our style has changed somewhat this year for the better. Fewer 3 point shots, the extra pass, and playing the passing lanes more aggressively all have been to our benefit.

We win at the rate we have now and style of play is moot. Yes, indeed, we've found our problem. Win at the rate we have this year and no one will complain about style of play!! Woo-hoo! Only one problem: NO ONE can consistently win at the rate we have this season, regardless of their style of play!! Yet the fans expect something like this season to be the norm every season and start their whining if it's not. No coach will ever live up to these ridiculous standards over the long haul.

Here! Here! TR, I agree man. The criticizem got pretty old. Not pointing a finger at anyone, or saying anything about anyone, but there for awhile, every single thread seems like it got around to Tubby Must go crap and ended up with Tubby must go crap. For a while everything anyone started to discuss, someone jumped in with that same ole stuff time after time after time. Now that they are winning, some are gone. What's with that. Come on back. It goes kinda like, "if Tubby walked on water, some would criticize him for getting the souls of his shoes wet." Come back, we will listen, it was very intertaining for many to read.

THE LOD has dismantled himself. There are still a few renegades like Osama bin Laden, but the heart of the organization have moved to the right side.
The only "renegade" members left I would assume enjoy the confederate flag.
