If you can't defend your own opinions, or see it as getting nasty when I simply ask you to defend them, then maybe you should question your own opinions.

Ok, Fine,Love Tubby, Support Tubby, Want Tubby, Stand up for Tubby and also lose with Tubby. Next month I'll be reading the wonderful posts in this great forum and I'll see "wait 'till next year" and we will wait and wait and wait. Lose with Tubby? Give me a break. Tubby's won countless conference championships and a national championship. I wouldn't classify him as a loser with those results. Afterall, this is the unanimous coach of the year that we're referring to.

Since 1998, the best we have done is the Elite Eight a couple of times. That's enough for me!!!! We were an awesome team when Tubby took over and he has turned us into AVERAGE. If you're content with being average then this has been a wonderful 6 years for you. I on the other hand want to be an EXCELLENT team.

Welcome aboard teamsj, but you forgot our National Championship, which I know everyone says was a product of Pittino, however many forget, no one picked that team to do as good as they did, with all the players lost to the NBA from the previous year, however Tubby tuned them in, and did what no-one expected with them.

That is great. 98 was a special tournament. However, I am tired of living in the past. If we don't get a Final Four this year I hope Tubby decides to pursue another job in the NBA. Hey, I think he would be a Great NBA coach.

Nobody else has won more during that same period, so I guess everybody is average then, aren't they?

How many teams in the last 6 years have been to the final four more than 1 time??? 5 teams....Duke, Kansas, Michigan St., Maryland, and UNC. 18 total teams that have been to the final four at least 1 time. Now Michigan St....they have the most of anyone in the past 6 years---3 FF appearances. Personally, I would not want UK to be where Michigan St. is this season. Some of those 18 teams that have made it once would be killing just to be in the sweet 16 or elite eight right now...So, there are 5 teams that have outperformed us in the tourney in the past 6 years...yet only 3 of those 5 teams that have made it to the FF have actually won the NC. I would take 1 FF and 1 NC over 2 FF and 0 NC.

In reference to georgiawildcatfan and teamsj - you all come on here like "gangbusters" and all you do is "slam" Coach Smith - what do you expect - this IS a UK Wildcat Message Board!!!! I suppose what Chris has at the bottom: "It is as useless to argue with those who have renounced the use and authority of reason as to administer medication to the dead." --Thomas Jefferson is very appropriate!!!! Unrealistic expectations will drive one "nuts!!!!!!"

You are right....for some reason I was confusing the tourney games last year...Wisconsin we beat, then lost to Marquette.
I will correct the post from before.

Geez, It looks like the ole' Hot Tub is cookin again! I haven't been checking it out lately and it looks like I've missed a lot. Everybody knows that I haven't always been a huge fan of Coach Smith , but to insist that he needs to pursue other avenues in response to four losses on the year is rather harsh. ???Sure, we're on a little down. But the season "ain't ova yet." It's about time to resurrect the "COMEBACK CATS" to silence the crowd! If there's anyone that's been known for negativety, I'm guilty...... but, I ain't negative just yet. And to say that we have become an "average" program is unreal. As of tonight, we've got 5 more regular season games left......that's five more victories and another SEC Championship! CHINS-UP!! IMHO, feeling that we're on a down year with four losses is a privaledge. And, by the way, saying "wait till next year" seems to be a popular and exciting thing to say these days. I can hardly wait for next year's team! HUGE BABY!!!!!

Where did you go georgiawildcatfan??
Did you get challenged and realized that you had nothing to back up your argument? Sorry, not trying to be a jerk...I am just gonna leave it at this, If you do feel you have some kind of valid point to make on this thread then bring it sooner than later...........
.......otherwise again the thread is dead.
