A lot of good points have been made about the apparent lack of a half court offense on this board, but about every hour there is a new thread bashing Tubby, and his offensive scheme.
How about a few threads on how well this team has done, or on matchups etc. Can we only find the negatives to talk about? Is there nothing about this team, or the SEC coach of the year that we can talk about that is positive?
I challege you maniacs to start looking at the possibilities of this team going far into the tournament instead of burying all hope prior to tip off.

Hmmm this is tough.. Well, I think Tubby's natural coaching abilities and great offensive schemes should give UK a SLIGHT advantage over EKU.. I think we'll actually advance into the sweet 32 this year, not bad for Tubby.. I guess there is a bright side to every situation... ;D

BC, I agree with you. All the negativity gets old. I love UK basketball too, but if we lose I put it behind me and move on. I especially don't complain about Tubby Smith sucking as a coach.
In retrospect tho, people are complaining about UK losing to Florida in a championship game. It's always great just to get in contention for a championship. That's Tubby's first title game loss of any sort at Kentucky in the SECT, and his second overall (UGA in 97 lost to Kentucky by 27). Tubby's got his team as a #2 seed in the tourney. Life is good!!!! 25-5. A few years ago, our record would have been more like 21-9 at this point.

KT, I agree. Life is good. I know there's a lot of frustration, but I just can't see letting it dilute all of the good that Tubby does every year, and again this year. It's been stated that this may be his best year ever as a head coach, and I'd say I agree with that.
What's even better is that it aint over yet.

THANK YOU BLUE CAT! This is the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Everyone is so quick to forget our past games, it is all what have you done for me lately. Nobody is complaining when Sparks shoots 7 of 10 from the three point line. Nobody remembers beating North Carolina, Michigan State, Indiana by 39. No, the sky is falling and we can't score. A team played great defense against us and we were tired from the day before. We have lost a total of five games, and the teams that did beat us weren't push overs. Were young and we all knew this, we have had growing pains, but nothing like I excpected. As for Tubby, we would have had another final 4 if Keith Bogans had not got hurt, just bad luck; He won it in 1998, and I don't care whose recruits they were, there wasn't anybody on that team that was a superstar, so that shows you that he is a hell of a coach. The fact is, Tubby is the man, he WILL take us back to the promise land one day. GO CATS

"The fact is, Tubby is the man, he WILL take us back to the promise land one day. GO CATS "Not without a better offensive scheme to give us a complete game to go with our good defense. Sure we'll continue to have good records but will not take home the big prize in the NCAA against the better teams that have a total game.

I didn't count how many teams in the NCAA have MORE losses this season than UK. But there are only a FEW teams with fewer losses. That makes me feel pretty good about our chances; but I think Elite Eight is where it will end. (I HOPE THIS PREDICTION IS WRONG.) It depends on if our best team shows up or sleeps on the job.
As for Tubby, I respect him as a person and admire his accomplishments. This year is probably his best recruitment class. I think our Cats have a bright future.

Man, I am telling what, some of these other sites are having some fun. The Carolina site has a poll where you vote on how far they will go. I'll they you again, they are pretty proud of there team and it shows. It's pretty cool with the excitement on the gator board and a few others too.
Even a thread dedicated to Rhondo on the swamp gas forum.
It's just a darn shame that there is not very many UK fans excited and proud of this UK team. I know I am, but feel pretty alone on THIS BOARD BEING A CATS FAN lately. GO FIGURE! AND P-L-E-A-S-E do not come back with all that garbage about this team and it's coach is not good enuff to us to be rooting for them and the big load about history and that crap.
Stay Llving in the past and no team, no coach, no player, no group of players will ever live up to the standards you will dream up about what they have done 100 years ago. This team is here now, the coach is here now and the tourney is getting ready to start.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know there are other forums having some fun out there.
See you later. By the way, I don't agree with everything about Tubby, a lot of you all bring up great points, but for josh sacks alive, isn't there anything else to talk about beside only the negatives.

Sorry about ragging on above, but last night when I was trying to posts a few positive things, it was like some you were falling my posts around and posting all the load of Tubby is such a lousy butt coach, the offense is so sorry, nobody knows how to rebound, half court and Tubby this and that, blah-blah-blah-blah.
Well, it pissed me off, I don't look for everyone who has questions about Tubby and post right after everything you post with the opposite load.
Frankly, right now I could care less about blah-blah-blah-blah- and blah.

Nobody is complaining when Sparks shoots 7 of 10 from the three point line. ( I don't complain, but then again I take it with a grain of salt because i realize it will not happen the next game, and it is NOT what we want to rely on. But hey if the kid is hot get him the ball!!!

I did see a positive in the fact that morris looked more alive in the florida game than the LSU game.

Some fans only want to dwell on the negatives and it is very frustrating.
One of the biggest detractions to UK hoops is the hype machine going on 70 miles to the west of UK. Its a "hype machine" and I live near it. Pitino could break wind and all his deciples would rush to hand him a tissue and ask if everything came out allright. If Tubby recruited a solid player he would get bashed for not signing TWO.
What is going on in my opinion from a certain faction of fans is they are trying to push Smith out, and if you dont agree with them they in turn will call you a bad fan and say you are only supporting the coach and not UK. Belive me, I deal with this on adaily basis and some fans only get excited about posting if there is negative UK news...IE..Lost recruit, lost game ect... They will beat the same points over and over and attack anyone who doesnt agree with them. Straight up...THEY WANT SMITH OUT.

I was at my sisters right after our Sparks win over them and all I heard was he was out of bounds, his foot was on the line, he wasn't fouled, blah, blah, blah........... I just smiled and said we were really lucky to beat them - they really got pissed that I didn't want to argue. Kentucky Fans are like the old traditional wealth of basketball tradition with class and the louisville fans are like the nevo rich in baketball wealth that don't have a clue how to act.

I will be in Cheatum Hall around many of them tonight watching Carter and Ecehfu. The energy they used to boo Jared Carter last night at Bellarmine even took me by surprise. I have hated UL since the 70s and they hate us, they are every bit as obnoxious as the worst of the worst.
