Its a sad day in UK basketball when all you have to look forward to is a 2nd year Center coming back who couldn't get drafted and only averaged 8 points a game and a handful of rebounds. The talent level we currently have is ridiculous and doesn't seem to look any better in the future. There is a chance that we can loss 5 nationally televised games in one year. There is a chance that we will fall out of the top 25 with a loss. Something is wrong with this UK picture and as big of a fan as I am of the man, you have to point to the coach. Its still early in the year and they can turn things around but it want hide the fact that we have a roster that consist of probrably 3 maybe 4 players that could start at any other division 1 school and that includes mid majors and little schools. I have seen the light Golf!!

Simple question, don't most Centers improve from their freshmen to sophomore seasons?
Another question, aren't we better with him than without?
Keep ;D

All true UKfan but that is not what I am saying. I am saying that we should be the program that one player shouldn't make that big of a difference in our level of play. He may come in and average 15 a game and 8 rebounds but is that what we are suppose to get our biggest excitement from for the year? Simple question, don't most Centers improve from their freshmen to sophomore seasons? Another question, aren't we better with him than without? Keep ;D

The possibility of 15 and 8 SHOULD excite everyone IMO, so yes....
Might be surprised to know that our 1998 NC team's leading scorer averaged 13 a game, and our Center scored 12 ppg....
Keep ;D

I see Morris coming back as nothing more than a VERY POSITIVE thing. Come on now, what better news could a UK fan ask for. Sims will be more comfortable playing his natural postion, Crawfords will be more comfortable.
It reshapes the entire team. QWhat Kentucky fan could argue with this great news.
ITS A GOOD THING

ITS A GOOD THING TB, I won't argue with this good news but I will have to wait and see what Morris' return will do for a team whose coach can't even get the ball passed to the man posting up. (and sometimes doesn't even have the inside guys posting up but instead just standing around with everyone else) I am mainly happy to see Morris coming back to see what Tubby will bring about with one of his excuses taken away - No Big Man. Will Morris retuning make Tubby a better offensive coach or motivator for players' confidence while developing them or a better recruiter? I remain VERY GUARDED in my optimism of this year and I am still concerned with Tubby as our caoch of the future.

It is a good thing getting him back, but our biggest problem isnt the center position. the sad thing is that kentucky has to put hope in a kid that dissed us and his team mates, as to cover for Tubby's lack of recruiting....

This is the best team Tubby can assemble or so it seems, for some reason we can't consistantly land the big time players and he can't recruit bigs at all? It seems like all UK can get is quality guards, but no bigs want to come to UK? Not sure why?

Style of play. Period. Start running the court, getting up and down and it will fit this team perfectly. There is not a person on the planet that can guard Rondo one on one. Randolfs return really helps in the defense. He can move his feet and clog the middle. He is also a ligit scoring presence on the inside. I can only hope that his desire is more than last year. Morris should be able to free up lead foot Sparks for some shots, and keep the doubles away from Rondo and Sims. Will he be a save all, no, but he sure as hell cant hurt.

UK won't fire Tubby for what he is doing now due to bad publicity in the race relations area. Tubby needs to resign on his own if he can't do any better than what he has done this year. Otherwise get used to boring plowhorse basketball with an Elite Eight every now and then as our big accomplishment.
If you don't think there are good coaches out there who would step over Tubby's body for 2 1/2 million a year, you are naive.

But in analogy you're right. There is all kinds of Matt Doughtery(sp?) out there that would want that. But if you think there are GREAT coaches that would take it then you are insulting their intelligents. If I was a great coach I wouldnt want to come into this type of fanbase. I would make a mark somewhere else. ED

^ ED, I respect you thoughts but I truly believe there is a Great Opportunity for the "right" coach to replace Tubby who will take us nowhere.
Our Program is just sitting and waiting for the "right" coach to resurrect it and it would be very attractive to that "savior".

But Golf no one will take it if Tubby is fired. He'll have to have a Matt Daughtery kind of meltdown for that to be possible. If Tubby continues what he has done in 8 seasons then no coach will touch UK and UK WILL be seen by what we try to get people to not see UK and the state as...get my meaning. Tubby would really need to screw up. And KJ mentioned Tubby should step down... if he does that. Believe me when I say the REPRUCUSSIONS would spell the death sentence to UK Basketball. It will be publizised as the boosters and fans ran Tubby out. The only way Tubby could leave and wouldnt hurt UKs image is for him to really have some LOSING SEASONS. And Tubby is to good of a coach for that to happen he has proven he can do more with less better than ANYONE in the country. ED
