Tubby will not be fired. UKis afraid of the Merlene Davis' of the world. As long as Tubby gets his 24-25 W's a year he will be here forever because of his hole card. Do we as fans think that is all that's needed. Can't answer for everybody but it isn't enough for me.
Tubby takes entire seasons off recruiting. His talent is nowhere near what there is at Duke or UNC or for that matter at UK before he arrived. Trey he does do a lot with little, but there is no reason for him to have to do so. This is UK, not UABor one of those hyphenated schools. If we played a style that was attractive to the elite and Tubby would do a better job closing the deal and identifying his targets earlier, imo we wouldn't have 2 of the last 3 recruiting classes not ranked in the top 25.
If he was to step down we would have no problem getting young up and comers here. Too much money to be made and too many inherent advantages all the way around for a young energetic, ambitious coach to not look our way. We might have troubles getting an established coach because who would want to leave something he had built and come to a pressure cooker. We wouldn't hurt for candidates imo.

Well for the sake of some before he retires may he bring a offensive minded coach for him to tutor in defense to take the reins. ED

kj, to answer your question, yeah, 24 plus wins is enough for me, because final fours will be scattered in there before he retires. That's just my opinion.

I'll have to say the law of averages should help your hope for a FF or two in there in the next 10 years. It's just my opinion. You or I don't know what the future holds. And on average Roy Williams goes to a final four every 3 of 4 years (17 years with 5 FFs). However, he went a nie year period, yeah, nine year period between final fours (1993-2002). Oh what talent he had too.

Regarding the name of this thread, I agree with myself more than ever after the Ohio game tonight. Very little game coaching tonight versus just yelling a jerking players out after every mistake. Even Tubby and Hanson got into a shouting match during the game. Very little coaching, effective substitution or encouragement. - Tubby, Hobbs and Hanson looked like Moe, Larry and Curly. Just scowling until toward the end of the game when Crawford and Bradley were saving their coaches' butts and then the 3 Stooges started smiling. This team is on the verge of either going onward and upward with Crawford, Bradley and Morris being real keys or staying mediocre compared to their potential if they don't get some sort of half court offense and play with some intensity along with some positive support from their coach.

Well, I will just have to say that I don't agree with golf. At least not this time. Love ya bro. but I thought Tubby did a solid job last night. He had the right guys in the game at the right time. Kudos to Tubby for making the right changes at the right time. That's just my subjective opinion and posted as such.

There are many "small" things that Tubby does that people won't ever give him credit for. Kudos to him for making the adjustment to go small. Kudos to Tubby for keeping Sims out of the game for as long as he did so he wouldn't foul out. Kudos to Tubby for taking Moss and Sparks out when Bradley and Crawford were having the games of their lives and we needed the best players in the game. Kudos to Tubby for telling his team to be ready for Ohio all week... perhaps now they'll realize Tubby actually knows what he's talking about.
Tubby outcoached Tim O'Shea when the game was hanging in the balance... and that's what the best coaches (one of which Tubby is) do.
