I can't believe nobody has mentioned Kevin O'neill! Pat Riley is the only coach that can make us the best team in the country. Think of all the recruits he would bring in. We'd have showtime in the bluegrass for sure. It would be great for Riley to give us 5 good years and be planning a transition by mentoring a new coach duing his time in the Head Job. Issel may be a choice also but would be a distant 2nd to Riley in that Issel hasn't coached in awhile.

My concern with Riley is whether he can work with kids as young as these guys are.
He might do a wonderful job, but he might implode with all the frustration that goes along with working with the spoiled kids.

Riley is a cool guy that would identify with the kids and probably understand that you coach various guys in different ways to get the most out of them.
He wouldn't use just the one dimensional "Bug Eyed Stare" Approach.

Tom Crean did nice in the NIT last year, golf. It seems like you dodged that obvious truth.

Yeah, Tom Crean did a nice job in the NIT last year. He is white tho. Some people would be all over that. kt, do you have a problem whether Tubby's replacement is black or white. You seem to bring it up as much as anyone. I just see Crean as a rising coach and Tubby as a bad coach. - skin color in NOT a prerequisite for me. Golf, KT hails from a part of Kentucky where racism and ignorance are rampant. I guess since he was fortunate to be raised without racism he feels like he has to fight it for the rest of his life. I don't think he realizes that only a small percentage of UK fans are indeed racist. It's spread all throughout KY, but more prevalent in the uneducated areas...

jarrod, I don't think racism is rampant around here. My mom did a great raising me (even if it's hard to believe). She "grew me up" around all different kind of ethnicities, and I respect all different ethnicities. It just boiles me up when I get the feeling that someone is judged by their color as opposed to the qualities that should be viewed. The day Tubby came here he said he wanted to be judged by the content of his character not the color of his skin. Fortunately, that seems to be the case most of the time. However, there are still a few out there as you say.

I think mark few is a good choice, if he shores up his defense. they can score on anyone, but they just cant stop anyone either...
few is making gonzaga respected, and is doing it with marginal talent. wait til he gets some studs in there, and then you'll see how good of a coach he is. I love watching them play...

Personaly would love to see a former wildcat at the helm for awhile. 1 Pat Riley - Hopefully no explanation needed! 2 and 3 are if Tubby lasts 4 more years 2 Travis Ford - Should have UMASS at the top of that conference and 1 or 2 players in the NBA. 3 John Pelphrey - Love his resume so far should only get better. 4 Rick Pitino - 96 - 98 enough said.

My top choices are (in no particular order) 1. Tom Izzo - but he is either in the final four or out early. Not fact, nust perception. 2. Pat Riley - UK Tradition, would younger college players realize who he was with the Lakers. Hopefully, he'd wear the championship rings on when recruiting. 3. Thad Matta - Recruiter, has done well with "lesser known talents"
