I've had it with excuses! There is NO excuse for today. Period. How can a coach who makes 2 mil a year not find a way to motivate his team for a nationally televised game at Kansas? ? Anybody?

In the post-game interview, Coach Smith said that the team "won't listen" and they "won't concentrate". So, I guess it's not his fault.

With about 12 minutes in the game I thought it would of be a good idea to take the last 5 players on the depth chart and play them the rest of the game. Tubby says they won't listen. That is one of the lamest excuses I have heard yet. If that is the case then he has admitted he has lost control of the team. Time to go Tubby. If you can't get the players to listen then you need to step down. You have admitted it is your fault, because it is your responsibility to make them listen. You have been given the authority to carry out your responsibilities, but you have failed. Show some honor and resign.

I think he needs to bench whoever won't listen. I have a feeling the problems are starting at Rajon Rondo, so I suggest sitting him or cutting him loose. If there is division in the locker room it is time to clean house.

This is the worst Kentucky team since the team that lost 150-95. There is no excuse for Kentucky falling like this. This team is painful to watch, just painful. You think recruiting is going to improve anytime soon with this kind of result?? This kind of offensive explosion?? This kind of incompentence?

If Rondo goes pro next year and Morris has a decent half season, imo he will go somewhere to play for pay, this team will be largely devoid of talent next year. Bring in 3 more guards when our forecourt can't stick their fingers up their rear=makes a helluva lot of sense. Those two guys leave and next year's team will be a laughing stock.
The Tv announcers were right when they stated the UL game was an aberration, not thew IU and KU games. Way past time to get rid of the Tub. We have no talent now and it will only get worse with this dull style of basketball.

If there is division in the locker room it is time to clean house. I figured the trouble was from Sparks. I cans see how he would be upset since he came to UK with the intent on him playing the point and then Tubby handing the keys to the hot shot freshman. Sims had some statements earlier in the year that made me think he could be an issue. I just don't get it. The problem is on offense and what kid DOESN'T want to play offense. I don't buy that reasoning from him.

A poor showing from top to bottom. No one stepped up for this team.....at least until it was too late. The blame on this game lies on many shoulders IMO.
It's time for a Vandy-like turnaround similar to a few years ago.
The addition of Morris should help offset our unbalanced offense but MUCH work is to be done and we need to 'find' ourselves. A floor leader needs to emerge and take control IMO.

The thing that is most alarming to me, is only 5 total assists. That's 5 for the entire team. What's the deal with that? I have not seen a UK team play as poorly the entire 9 years I have been watching them. This had to be the quickest a winner has been determined. It was over very early, and that is somewhat sad, considering we are talking Kentucky basketball. They are out of the top 25 now. Something is way wrong that we are not hearing about.

yes, im sorry, but i have to blame Tubby. when you have players who don't respond and refuse to show up to play you have to point fingers at the coach. Tubby has never been a motivater. it is his job to get the team ready and focused. the team totally lacks any signs of toughness or a physical presence. they are by no means quick to the ball. they embarrasingly get pushed around on both ends of the court. it is really painful to watch. it didn't even look like they tried to run any offensive sets today. it was all a bunch of dribbling and one on one crap like the indiana joke of a ball game. why in the world when tubs sees this does he not call timeout and say LOOK! RUN A FREAKIN PLAY! the poorest excuse i've seen for a kentucky basketball team since right before pitino came. one player (morris) doesn't turn this joke of a team around. the players are frustraded with Tubby and vice versa. UK might as well start looking for a replacement. and i have stuck by Tubby until now. completely embarrasing for a kentucky team to lay down like that on national tv. they have to pride!

^ skaggs34, speaking of pride, the only way we get rid of Tubby is if he has enough pride to see his shortcomings as a coach and resign at Kentucky.

Barny will never let Tubby go, it would be admitting a multi million dollar mistake on his part, and that will never happen. If he is happy with Brooks, he is happy with Tubby as long as they have a winning record and continue to fill Rupp.
