The first half of the game, they might have been prepared for the game. However, the second half, they surely weren't prepared to win.
Yes, we are more talented than UGA. But, do we implement and develope that talent? Player development and rotation has always been my gripe with the present coaching staff.

We started losing the 17 point lead before the end of the first half because of the players Tubby had on the floor. Also, if you have noticed, UK can't stand pressure on the ball. Any coach that plays UK and doesn't pressure the ball is a fool. Each game we have lost is because of the pressure that was put on the ball. I know I have been very critical of Tubby in the past, but in all honesty, this game was HIS fault we lost.

What's the chances of Pearl and Donovan putting pressure on the ball?

So I guess what peopel are saying, is that when they got their 17 point lead it was ALL the players. However, when they lost it in the second half, we should blame it on Tubby. A 17 point lead means squat when you give it up and lose the game. Not to mention that the second half is when the better coach makes changes to put his team in position to win.

How is this NOT Tubby's fault? He recruited the players, didn't he? He coached the game, right?

Are you saying that UK's lead was because of Tubby and UK losing the lead because of the players? I'm saying dont blame it on Tubby, when Tubby is not out there playing. Sure he decides who to put on the court, and sure he decides what plays to run. But if the players don't execute, he cant control that. Do you recall the past couple of years when Team USA has had amazing players on their team, yet still lose to lower class teams? I guess Coach K should be fired, since he didn't motivate the team last year to go all the way. They had all the best players, but Coach K did not give them motivation. I guess Larry Brown was a bad coach too. He had an amazing team, and yet didn't compete with teams full of random players from 3rd world countries.

Man, we are really stuck in between a Rock and a Hard place! Turn out immediate Media winners or turn out long term winners in life? I want a mixture of both... But that's dreaming!
Naw, it can be done.....

There's one major difference there, Coach K didn't pick those players and was dealing with babied NBA premadonnas that are used to basking in the limelight. You're saying that it isn't the coach's job to prepare the players and assure that they execute to the fullest of their potential? See, I've had it all wrong this whole time. I always thought the coach was supposed to lead his players and put them in position to win. I suppose in reality his only job is to pick the starting lineup, huh?

No, Tubby should be fired because we've had 9 years of this crap. Enough is enough. This isn't Kentucky Basketball.

Tubby is 37-18 in his last two seasons as UK coach.
I predict he will go 42-26 over his final two years at UK. A horrible, shite-record that only die hard Tubbites could really appreciate.

How did Tubby Smith get a job with ultimate authority, ultimate responsability, and the highest compensation without any accountability?
How can the overall talent be down for the better part of a decade now but it's not his fault?
How can we see the pounding the ball into the deck and standing around year after year and it not be his fault?
How can the team have the same flaws season after season and it not be his fault?
Kentucky is without question the top program in the sport and Tubby is supposed to be an ELITE coach, the highest paid in the game. How is we haven't beat a seed higher than 5 this decade? How is that 7 teams have multiple Final Fours since we last had an appearence? UConn has gone from a garbage program to winning 2 championships since we have won a regional final, but we are feed that a better coach than Tubby can't be found.
We have been sinking since Tubby's recruiting and development have put their stamp on the program. We lucked out and had Fitch, Hawkins, Hayes, and Daniels overachieve big time and it covered that the quality of our roster has steadily dimminished for years, falling to the point that an infussion of 3 McDonald's All Americans could do little more than hold the line.
Then Hayes graduated.
You know the only real power forward UK has had since we partied like it was 1999. People are upset he hasn't been replaced but it was an issue he didn't have some one to backup/understudy/mentor/compliment him.
Seriously, how is not one other credible power forward between when Hayes got here until Stevenson not Tubby's fault?
Heck, the small forward spot hasn't been too much better off, if any and we've been far from loaded at center.
Are coaches responsible for anything? What is it that these people bring to the table that is worth so much money? How do you define a a coach as performing or failing?
What is it that Tubby does so well that makes him special and irreplacable? What could he stand to improve on? How do those strengths and weaknesses affect the game?
What strengths and abilities does Tubby share with Rupp, Wooden, Knight, and K?

I think that alot of the "miscommunication " could be that the players can't understand or make since of what he is saying, heck in post game interviews you really have to concentrate on what he is saying to even make sense of it.

OH, the one major attribute that I think a coach needs besides the recruiting, coaching, and a good system is MOTIVATION. Which he can't do. All the above mentioned coaches are great motivators along with be great coaches of the game

I'll repeat once more so many can understand my point. I do not place the ENTIRE blame at Tubby but he does deserve some. Even though we've played some quality teams, more was expected, at least from me. If the problems are with some of the "regulars" on the floor, it's time to move on to see what the young guys can do. A mistake is a mistake whether it's made by a freshman or senior....and to be honest, the freshman deserve the benefit of the doubt and be held to a slight lessor standard since they are new and mistakes are more readily understandable. Sure, the seniors and juniors make mistakes as well but they should be held to a slightly higher standard since they know the system much better. My

I love Bobby Perry and Sheray Thomas, but I think it's time that they start backing up Stevenson. Our production at the 4 is so bad right now that we simply have to do something, even if it is wrong. I would jump Stevenson at center, Morris hasn't won a tap for us all year. We need to get more aggressive. How many fouls of aggression, like over the backs, have we seen lately? None. We are playing the game as if it were tiddlywinks instead of basketball.
