No matter how you dice it, everything about this team is simply mediocre. Their effort, talent, coaching, recruiting, athleticism, etc - all mediocre. Simply put, a change has to be made and whether its fair or not, in college athletics that change usually starts with the coach.

Mediocre? Mediocre is not being the only team in the toughest conference in America with three players in the top 14 in ppg(Crawford, Bradley and Morris). Mediocre is not 18-8 its 13-13. Mediocre is not playing UF and at Tenn to three and 4 point loses. Mediocre is not having the toughest schedule in America and living to tell about it. Mediocre is not having a Coach with a national Championship and 4 elite eights under his belt. Sorry but this team is FAR from mediocre.

Sparks, I respect your opinion, but this team DOES NOT have a national championship. And when was the last time that Kentucky fans celebrated an Elite Eight? I expect more from the basketball team than 18-8. I think alot of people would consider this season, if not an utter failure, then mediocre at best. Yeah, a team like Marquette or Tennessee or Iowa State might be ok with a season like this. But we shouldn't have to. Have our expectations and standards fallen so low that 18-8 is not considered mediocrity? Or do we fail to recognize the name on the jersey that says Kentucky?

No 18-8 is not mediocre when UK's S.O.S. is #1 or #2. Just watch we will be the only team in the RPI top 10 with 8 loses.

SP3, I really must respectfully ask you one question; How old are you? I'm not asking to bait you, I'm earnestly curious.

Wow, I guess that makes 8 losses okay then. Can't wait until we start hanging RPI and strength of schedule banners in Rupp. Won't that be impressive.

Fella I'm not thrilled about 8 loses but all things considered, UK is still in the hunt. They just need to get in the NCAA's and they will have a shot. I'm looking at the big picture (RPI and SOS) not away loses to tough teams and a home lose to #1 by 3 points and deeming the Cats done, because they are not. Just wait and see.

Being 18-8 and on a 3 game skid does lead most UK followers to gripe. While losing 3 straight has become a Tubby tradition, it is NOT UK tradition. Yes, I have followed since 72, or old enough to know what UK basketball meant. But it goes way farther than that. I have an autographed picture of the 50-51 team hanging on my den wall, and you know what they are? NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. This team will not contend for a title no matter what you would like to believe. They are too busy watching the ball, letting their man dunk, and generally playing like zombies. Now, before you post a fast SOS, RPI, Rankings post, sit back, take your 28+ years of watching them play and honestly tell me this is what you have come to watch and love year in and year out. I am not dishing your opinion or posts in any way, and respect what you have to say. Just sit back for a minute and think about it.

RPI and SOS mean nothing if you're yet to defeat a top 25 team. UK has not and will not beat any team of substance.
