Tubby may not have won as much as we like recently, but he has
Never embarrassed us with chair throwing and player hitting
Never been caught on tape drunk as a skunk
Never made a fool of himself running on the court during the game to dispute a call
Never been caught drinking with students and players
Never not represented the State and University with class
I know these should be givens, but in todays society they are not guaranteed. He is a person of character.
A heartfelt thanks in spite of my and others doubts at times for acting with class and weathering the "hot" seat. Many of us -myself included, could not take the heat and would have tucked and run a long time ago money or not. Good luck tonight and in the tourney. I will cheer out of respect and honor for those that have made an attempt to be successful. A CAT fan

^^good post. one more to add: he has never left us to go to the pros and then comeback to coach for our in state rival, at least not yet. nobody can argue that he has handled this current situation like a man. we need to win more and get better recruits and thats the bottom line. but regardless of what i might have said, i truly hope Tubby can turn this around. the clock is definitely ticking though.

I 100% agree, I would rather see Tubby turn it around then have to leave. Within the next 2 yrs, if Tubby gets to the f4 and brings in number 8. His career statistics will be unbeatable and universally considered the best.
When 1 nc puts you on that level....then Tubby cant be as bad as many are making him out to be.
And if he doesnt get it, he will leave UK as GREAT coach with a great run (including uk).
Last years team and this years are tubbys worst in his UK career, and they are still capable of hanging with any team in the nation... Just a few clicks away from crossing that line...maybe they will.....
but we gotta quit with the stupid Tubby bashing, its just completely detrimental (spell?) to the program.

Great post and thank you for saying it. I think he is a great coach and person and want him to turn it around. And I truly give a Tubby coached team a chance to beat anyone in the tourney. I also really want him to do it this year because I live in Atlanta!

I've been a tried and true Tubby fan for a long time and I still am. I still think it's time for a change, but I agree that Tubby has been nothing but class and deserves to be treated with class.
If I say Tubby needs to move on; I do so with no malice in my heart. I simply feel that it hasn't worked out to the expectations of Kentucky fans, and he and the University would be better off parting ways.
Now If Tubby doesn't leave after this season and things work out so that we have a much better team next year then things can change quickly and I'll be one of the first to say I was wrong.
Right now Tubby is our coach and as coach he's part of the team. I support the team. I wish Tubby great success and success in the coming years whether he is coaching here or elsewhere.

For the sake of consistency, I have to send this off to the Hot Tub.
Great thread, though.

The thread was written at 5:46 Mountain time here where I now live in Arizona- Before the tip off of last nights game and we whipped the dogs. Thanks for the kind words. You're right it feels better to all when we win. We as true fans have to stand by and be there when we lose even if it hurts.

Then you missed it when Tubby hit Porter and told him to pay attention..... Knight like huh?
Just kidding. ;D

I saw the little tap on the front of the arm he gave Porter and it was not a hit at all. Nothing like Knight. It was no more than you would do when tapping someone on the shoulder to get their attention.
