Kbg, I'm attempting this for the 1st time -- dunno if I'm up to speed on the process. Please bear with me. Tell me, are there still some honest-to-god-Tubby-bashers out there? Where could they possibly be existing? Surely not on this planet. Do u have any insight? I only see 2 teams that might be able to withstand the Wildcat D-pressure for 40 minutes at this juncture of the season -- Georgia & UL -- & GA does not have the depth to hold up, altho they would appear to have the strength, talent, & maturity. Wouldn't it be sweet to see Ricky Pitini & Tubby square off for the WHOLE ENCHILIDA? Simply scrumptious! PanaSea

PanaSea Since you for one reason or another have picked me out to answer this I will attempt to..Yes there are still honeset to god Tubby bashers out there..Travel all over the net and you will find some every day I am sure. I think myself that it is a shame that anyone would bash him because he is a damn good coach in my opinion. Myself, I don't want to play Pitino again..but that is just me..Yeah it would make a great game but I just couldn't stand to watch it..But again that is JMHO. Hope I answered your question.

Kbg, Yours was my first-ever post. I just selected u cuz u were live -- or at least so I thought (browsing the chat rooms are new to me). No, I'd luv a FINAL Rickki-Tubby showdown!!!! LUVVIT!! I'm a big time Tubby fan. Rick's a great college coach but March-in, March-out, Tubby will out-coach him IMHO. This year we'll see, won't we? Think on this: How many years did Rikki coach Pitini's UK's players? 8. How many NC's? 1. How many years did Tubby coach Pitini"s UK's players? 1? How many NC's? 1. Now, which is the best winning %, 100 or 12.5? Is that simple or what? Or, think on this: Tubby has completed just 5 years at UK with 1 NC. At that rate, if he could somehow maintain it, I believe he would finish 2nd only to the "Wizard of Westwood" in the annals of NCAA roundball. Not too shabby! No one else has ever done better at any school -- not Mike K, not Dean, not Bobby, not Rikki, not Lute, not Adolph, not Denny. NOBODY!!! Now, granted, it may not be likely that Tubby can maintain that early 1 in 5 pace. Who can? However, who's to say, once he gets his program re-stabilized, playing like they did in '98 & '99 & like they're playing now, he can't do even better? I, for one, will not bet against him. Will u? Record RP-6w's, Tubby-1W, only 1 close game in the losses for Tubby, 91/2 games hardly makes up for 3 years being in a daze. I've been a UK fan for 40 years but I doubt if Tubby's record against Pitino will improve any in March either.

I think we could handle Louisville right now. I'm worried about Florida. Now that's a team. KJ with the mid day

Do we really have to go through this again? 5 of RP's 6 wins against Tubby were when Pitino was coaching two of the best UK teams in history. People think this is some revealing statistic that Pitino has Tubby's number. His record against just about any coach over those two seasons (96/97) would be just as impressive.

KJ, I guess we have a little kj & a big KJ. Thanx for responding. I'm a rank novice at this but maybe I'm getting the hang of it. Now that could be dangerous. Rikki & Billy in March could be fun but I believe I'd have to give the edge to little Rikki. I salivate at the mere thought, tho. Florida? I believe you'll find that they will not be able to hold up under UK's pressure-D. They are explosive but we will not allow them to explode with any regularity. Can't explode if u can't execute the offense. In the end we wil break them down. UK by 10. Then, for good measure, we'll go down to Gainseville & do it again. Athens & Oxford scare me a bit more. Later. PanaSea
