Lafayette Band (Lexington) just won it's thirteenth, yes 13th straight State Marching Band Championship last night. KMEA started the State Championship in 1986 and Lafayette has won every year since 1990. We should call Lexington "Title Town" because of all the cheerleading championships, basketball championships, and high school band championships the city owns. I'm proud to have been a part of the band for four years, but its hard to believe I represent a measly 4 of an incredible 13 STRAIGHT State Championships!!! They will also be in this year's Macy's Parade one of 12 that was selected of over 300 entrants. This will be the second time they perform (1991) more than any other band outside of New York.

That's insane. 13 years in a row. That's unheard of!

My brother was there from '91-'94 and I was there '95-'98 and they've won 4 years since and in 1990. I can say though that the 1990-1996 bands were the best and were unstoppable, so you got a nice treat
