The other day I was laughing at myself for not thinking and posting a dumb post for my milestone 900th post and I noticed I am back in the 800's. Does anyone else know what is going on? Not sure what could have happened. I see however that you have already made it back to 868 as I post this. It won't be long and you can that post. Perhaps since you forgot the first time you hit 900 you are getting a do-over. Just kidding with you. Unless someone has intentionally changed the post count it shouldn't have changed.

Could it have been someone deleting threads that they started? Would that delete the posts that someone has made in the thread?

Could it have been someone deleting threads that they started? Would that delete the posts that someone has made in the thread? I don't think so...unless it was a staff member. If that was the case, we'd know about it. Usually if a member deletes his/her initial post in a thread, the replies remain. At least that's the way it's been in the past.

Can you check the 'logs' to see if anybody was deleting their threads? If a whole thread dissapears then the reponses do too, right? I'm assuming then maybe the post count would be different? -D

Can you check the 'logs' to see if anybody was deleting their threads? -D Just did. All that was deleted was one post on the football board and that was on 8-14-07. If a whole thread dissapears then the reponses do too, right? I'm assuming then maybe the post count would be different? -D Correct. If an entire thread is deleted....the replies do as well and one's count can be altered. The thing with that is .... only a staff member can make an entire thread disappear. The member would delete their posts only and the others would not be affected. Just like in this thread. The title is "Did something happen to the board?" If tcot deletes the initial entry, the thread would be re-titled "Re: Did something happen to the board?" as the inital post would be gone. Again, this is from memory but I still believe it's accurate. An easy test would be for tcot to try to delete this thread and see what happens.
