With the way Artose Pinner has been producing yards for the University of Kentucky, it may turn out to be an unexpected blessing that the senior running back probably will miss one day of practice every week this season. Pinner normally makes his position meeting each Wednesday with running backs coach Gerald Carr. However, a class conflict keeps him from practicing with the Cats on Wednesdays. "Academics have to come first and there was a class he could only take on Wednesday afternoon," Kentucky coach Guy Morriss said. "He makes his meeting, which is important, and coach Carr tries to catch him up the best he can. But it is a little different situation from what you might want as a coach." Yet both Morriss and Pinner admit that not practicing one day each week might help keep him healthier and fresher for game day.

That's ok. Sometimes I think it's good for players to have a day off every now and then.

The day off certainly isn't hurting his skills. Pinner is flat out a hoss. We need those legs to stay as fresh as possible, especially with the SEC portion of our schedule looming on the horizon.
