University of Kentucky football coach Guy Morriss cited the absence of wide receivers coach Harold Jackson as the reason for UK's lackluster passing performance Saturday. Junior quarterback Jared Lorenzen completed 19 of 32 passes, but for just 183 yards, including 10 completions torunning back Artose Pinner for 92 yards. Morriss said because Indiana played its two safeties so deep, often 15-20 yards off the football, UK wanted to throw crossing routes and other pass plays underneath the coverage, but that the timing between Lorenzen and the receivers was off. He said a major reason for that was because Jackson left at noon Wednesday following the death of his father. "The thing that happened with our passing game, to be honest with you, I really believe our receivers were a little bit out of sync,'' said Morriss. "We were not running our routes quite as precise as we'd would have liked to, and needed to, and I think a lot of that was due to the fact that coach Jackson was not with us all week. He was not here for any practice or any meetings, so that group of receivers goes into a meeting and they're not getting the detailed stuff from their coach and I think that was pretty evident in the ballgame.'' Senior wide receiver Aaron Boone said he agreed the receivers missed having Jackson with them all week.

Hopefully we'll get that lined out, and Jared will throw for about 300 yards Saturday.
