The rain delay really messed them up. Do we have a thing with the number 17? Artoose Pinner led the way. He unofficially had 26 carries for 140 yards and 10 receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. Jared Lorenzen was 19-32, 184 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception. sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/scores/20020914/iiekkd.html

I gotta tell you, it was so wonderful to attend a game that was an official sellout! And the atmosphere was so unlike all those years we suffered through The Fellowship of the Miserable. Lightning delays? No problem. Several torrential downpours? No sweat. It was incredible to see so many of the fans stay through all the weather challenges (and the late charge by IU). Of course, I can't talk today since I screamed so much last night, but what a way to go, huh?
Only down side was after the extended game delay due to lightning, the Cats came back out rather flat. I truly believe had there not been such a delay, the score would have been far more lopsided in our favor. Seems the break, however, allowed IU a chance to kind of regroup and figure out how to hold on to the ball because they were NOT doing that prior to the delay.

Very good win for us. A good win because we pulled out something that could have been horrible. However, we can play better than this. I think we played more like last year's team in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, but played the way we know the 1st and 4th. Good win but this kind of playing won't beat anyone remaining on our schedule. We have to step it up if we are going to get anymore victories.
And IU does not look good in Crimson. Going to be weird playing them in basketball.

I agree Tummygoat about the "crimson" of IU. Just looked very, VERY weird.
I would, however, disagree about we won't beat anyone else on the schedule if we play like that again. What I saw was a definitive drop in sharpness after the game delay. But what I saw in the fourth quarter that I have NOT seen in years past was the team pulling together and absolutely willing themselves to win. That attitude, IMO, just about guarantees a .500 season at worst.
Maybe its just dreaming, but I actually think this may be the season when we pull one of those "big" upsets (i.e. UGA or UT).

We will beat Georgia and be 8 and 4. I don't think we can beat UT at Neyland.
