Taylor Begley kicked three field goals and Kentucky's defense dominated No. 17 Louisville and quarterback Dave Ragone in a 22-17 win over the Cardinals on Sunday night. Jared Lorenzen threw for 195 yards and a touchdown as the Wildcats snapped a three-game losing streak to their in-state rivals in the opener for both teams. Ragone, touted as a Heisman Trophy candidate, spent most of the game on the run from Kentucky's pass rush. He was sacked three times and finished 14-of-39 for 193 yards with a touchdown pass and an interception.

#18 in the Country? LOL, hardly....
Ragone a Heisman candidate? Not going 14-of-39 for 193 yards, one touchdown and a costly interception with just over three minutes to play....
Granted, he can take some amazing punishment but he didn't look remotely good otherwise....
I hear the UK boys will celebrate by feasting on K.F.C (Kentucky Fried Cardinal) tonight....LOL

Wow. What a performance! Our defense was the best I've seen from Kentucky in decades! Our offense wasn't that bad either considering UL has one of the top 5 defenses in the country. This sets a GREAT tone to begin the season. I think MTSU will be a tough tough game and it would be great to head into Gainsville with a 4-0 record. Can't imagine that though. But who would have thought we'd kick the Cards!!??

Wow! That was a great game. The defense was awesome. While they played good, I think the offense can play much better. However, I was impressed with Artoose Pinner. Dare I say 4-0. ;D

That game was awesome! What I really liked was Jared's seeming maturation when inside the red zone. Instead of forcing the issue by trying for the touchdown, when the receivers weren't open, Jared protected the Cats' field position AND the ball. That was something in far too short supply last year. The win wasn't fancy and didn't involve gimmick plays or lots of long bombs. Nope...they just won on good ol' school basics: protect the ball, control the clock, and play hard-nosed defense. Way to go Guy & Cats!
