It's no accident that Kareem Reid is wearing No. 56 at the University of Kentucky. His favorite professional player, linebacker Lawrence Taylor, wore No. 56. Reid wore No. 56 during his prep career in Coral Springs, Fla. The previous four years at Kentucky that number belonged to Dennis Johnson, a third-round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals. Johnson, like Reid, played defensive end. The Kentucky freshman also bears a striking resemblance to Johnson in uniform with his 6-5, 250-pound frame. "I knew this was Dennis' number and that people might make some comparisons," said Reid. "But that's the number I like and I had a feeling I might get it here because so many people have told me that I look like him. "I've seen Dennis play a few times and also seen some film of him. I want to be able to play like he did. Before I'm finished here, I want people to remember that I also wore No. 56."

I like this kid's attitude and drive! Here's hoping the good karma from other ex-56 wearers passes along to him!
