Some of Shaun Alexander's teammates are noticing a little more pep in his walk this training camp. Ricky Watters is gone and Alexander is finally the No. 1 running back for the Seattle Seahawks. He began last season behind Watters until the veteran hurt his shoulder and Alexander stepped in. Alexander returned to the backup role when Watters recovered. Yet Alexander, a former Boone County star and Kentucky Mr. Football, still wound up among the NFL's top rushers. "He's the man this year," receiver Darrell Jackson said. "He came and waited his time patiently and learned some things from future Hall of Famer Ricky Watters. I think that helped him a lot. Now he's picked his game up and he's practicing very well and playing well. He's doing the things we ask of him, being one of our leaders."
