First of all, let me say I have great admiration for Guy Morris thus far. He agreed to take over a program that, quite frankly, was crumbling before our very eyes thanks to the exploits of Bassett, Mumme & Co.
While last year's record was certainly nothing to write home about, I was very impressed with the effort of the team. As the season progressed, they were in a position to win many of the games, only to fall a little short in the end.
Scholarship limitations along with the edict from the NCAA regarding no post-season play have certainly hampered Guy's efforts on building a highly-competitive team this season. All those things being said, though, I think Guy is going to surprise a lot of people this year.
So what do you think....is Morris the one who can FINALLY get it done for UK Football? A man who follows the rules and keeps control over his assistants and their activities AND fields a good (and hopefully in the not-too-distant future, GREAT) team? Can this happen at UK or are we doomed to forever be the Fellowship of the Miserable?

Bingo, you said it perfect. You can't ask for more than what the team gave. That being said I think it will take time, but slowly Guy Morris will turn us into a football team that can be competitive and consistently make a bowl.

I think he will be a coach Kentucky will want to keep for a long time. I bet he puts a good system into place. Just hope he learned a little last year when he tried to change Lorenzen into a different system that did not fit him and started the other guy. The offense went nowhere for the first few games and finish the season like Tim Couch (and Craig Yeast) were back. Good luck Guy Morris and football Cats.

JMHO but I think it really depends on the new AD. If the new guy comes in with a football background, he may want to go with his own people. I do believe however that Guymo can get the job done. ;D

The new AD thing is a real good point. I started reading an article in the paper late this afternoon and I certainly hope the AD has a football background. However, from what I read, it did not sound like it. Sounded like he is very budget minded. We will see where that goes. 8)

If this is what Todd wants then the athletic dept. is in serious trouble. I don't believe that Lee Todd really cares about sport period, and that could be bad news for the fans.:ohlord:

I agree Roadwildcat. I would like to see the bottom line numbers to get a good idea how much revenue the football and basketball programs bring in compared to the budget dollars. I would think the article has a lot to do with the trouble the football program was in. Maybe just a smoke front to look good to the NCAA.
